Worst and horrible service. My recent experience with Hertz was nothing short of disappointing, and I feel compelled to share it with others to prevent them from enduring a similar ordeal. I had reserved a premium sedan a month in advance, as my family and I were traveling with a child and required a comfortable and safe vehicle. However, Hertz failed to live up to our expectations at every turn.Upon our arrival at the rental location, we were informed that the premium sedan we had reserved was unavailable. To our astonishment, we were offered a two-door Camaro, which was entirely impractical for a family with a child. This made no sense, considering our initial reservation.Reluctantly, we accepted the offer of an SUV, which was not our preferred choice. We inquired if the price would remain the same, but the agent, Leo, informed us that the SUV would actually cost more than the premium sedan. This goes against the industry standard, where customers are often provided with free upgrades when their reserved vehicle is unavailable. What added to our frustration was the lack of empathy displayed by Leo and another employee named Nat. They seemed disinterested in addressing our concerns and repeatedly claimed there was nothing they could do to help. After over an hour of waiting with no reasonable solution in sight, we were informed that we could travel to the Hertz location in Santa Ana, which was 30 minutes away, to rent a different car. This was a significant inconvenience, and it felt like Hertz was not taking responsibility for the disruption they had caused. This experience with Hertz Fullerton was exceptionally disappointing.I would advise potential customers to think twice before choosing Hertz, as the lack of consideration for customers' needs and the subpar service we received was unacceptable.

It's okay... Not great; not terrible. - Very spartan office. Basically just four walls; four chairs; a counter. One or two dusty pictures. - Lightly staffed, Two most of the time we were there, with a third guy appearing now and then. So given the apparently inordinate amount of time it takes to enter the necessary information into the computer, expect to be waiting around for quite awhile as they process the people ahead of you. We spent ~1 hour each time for both picking up and dropping off.- When we had completed processing the rental agreement they told us we could wait outside and one of them would bring the car around from out back. For some inexplicable reason this took 25 minutes at least (on top of the hour of waiting and processing). - They seem to have plenty of EV's if you'd like to rent one of those.

Beware! The other one star reviews are warranted. We had booked a car 1-2 months in advance; we get there and no was car available. The young man at the counter did not care enough to make it right. He said he had good news though, they have an SUV, it would be twice the price. He said "since you only are renting for one day the price is not that big of deal." He didn't seem to understand the issue was an agreed upon price and vehicle. So I asked if there was someone he could call to resolve the issue, such as his manager. His reply "no, he is going to tell you the same thing." Now sitting in Fullterton (not the best area to just hang around in) We tried to explain again we did not need an SUV, and it really is not our fault that you don't have the vehicle. At this point he just said "sorry" and stared at us. 30+ minutes later the manager was somehow available for him to talk to and they finally gave us the SUV for the price we reserved the car for. There was only 1/4 tank of gas and had not been cleaned. One more CAUTION they had me "sign for the rental" what you are signing for is the damage that has been previously pictured, NO walk around to agree where damage is. We took a video all the way around and also picture of the 1/4 tank so we would not be blamed for any issues. If you like having blood pressure raising, money sucking experience go to Fullerton Hertz.

This place is really shady. Offered me a longer range Tesla for “35 more” but never thought they should tell me it’s per day. Also, how am I able to book online with no issue but when I get there they charge me an extra “19 more” for being underage (23) and guess what it was per day as well. Didn’t sign any paperwork so there was no way to check the details, I was only told to sign on the keypad. I don’t know how this company can keep getting away with this. Got stuck paying almost double than what we budgeted for. This place ruined my trip and I will never come back again

Literally every customer before and after me was also having problems picking up their cars. The original car I booked was not available and they offered a Chevy Bolt which was electric and didn't work for my long road trip (now I honestly doubt that car was even there). I was forced to upgrade to a Corolla which was almost double the original price of what I booked (and more than I remembered seeing online). Very shady business practices. When I would go to Enterprise car rentals, if your car is not available and better one is, the upgrade was free. Here, I spent almost double what I originally booked online. I will never come back to this Hertz.

Worse car rental experience I have faced! As I read through the reviews I see I am not the only one that has arrived and not got the vehicle they were originally promised. Me and another customer where there dealing with the same situation, they try to upgrade you (obviously for a higher price) and cant even compensate. They had me waiting around to see what they could come up with and I ended up with a gas guzzler. So disappointed I spent more on gas than my whole trip. And on top of that I received the car so dirty and expected me to take it through a quick carwash! They gave me a free carwash coupon but still out of my way and already time wasted for sitting around waiting for my vehicle.Really, DO NOT RENT HERE!

I liked the staff, and the Tesla! I'm looking to rent a car now. So I intend on using them.

I'd give Hertz a zero star review if I could, one star is too many for their lack of service and shady schemes. As usual, they said they did'nt have the vehicle I reserved online (there were two parked in their lot!!) So I was forced to take on an extra charge for an upgrade because that was the only vehicle they had. Who are they trying to fool? How is it my problem that they booked something they "didnt have"? Which, again, happens all the time. Anyway, growing impatient since I'd been standing there for 20mins I went with the shenanigans this time because I had somewhere to be only to be ultimately declined because Hertz loves to change their credit/debit card policies on the spot. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache, don't book here!! Thanks again for wasting my time and messing up my entire planned day, Hertz.

Doesn't even deserve a star at all. Customer service is horrid. Waiting for hours to get the car that was supposed to be reserved at 9am. Only 1person at counter. People on phone more important than the customers waiting. Not worth the wait.

They cancelled my reservation 2 hours before my pickup time and there was no effort in even trying to find me an alternative. And then they had the nerve to charge me as a no-show.If your reservation gets cancelled make sure to check your bank statement. This place is a joke.

The counter staffs are pretty friendly, polite, and nice. But it’s just that they are VERY slow~~ it’s probably even faster to just buy a car~~

I have been a gold member with Hertz for years and have rented from Fullerton several times with no complaints. This time was different. There was new staff and I honestly have never had a worse experience. Usually, as a gold member, I show my ID and get the keys, do a walk-through and I'm gone. This time, I had to show multiple forms of ID AND was asked to prove my employment with the company for which I was using their corporate code. Appalled. All of this is pre-verified when I set up my profile. Second, Jeremy tells me it's going to be a few minutes because the car is really dirty. I get the car and it is BEAT UP! There's so many dings and dents that I just took a full video of the condition instead of photos. They had no other cars available. Note: while I'm waiting, a gentleman who rented before me came back with a service light and was assured he was fine. I rent the car on Saturday but don't leave for my trip until Monday. I get out of state and I have multiple brake malfunction and check engine warnings come on. In addition to the door not closing right so the air and sound was coming in through the driver's window. I reach out to Jeremy. The first thing he asked me is what rental I have and his response was "oh, you have THAT car". He says I need to contact the closest airport location (which is 3 hours away). Then he tells me to call the one closest to me. I asked him if he could call them and set up a replacement for me since I am on business (and, frankly, this is his job). He said he doesn't have their number. What?! Then he proceeded to tell me to call roadside assistance. I don't need roadside assistance. I need you to set up a new rental for me. I drove to the rental office myself and was informed that the car was just in an accident and should have never been rented to me. What!?!? Thankfully, the new office provided top-notch service and had me in a new car immediately. I will never rent from Fullerton again and if it wasn't for the service I received in Arizona, I would be done with Hertz for good.

Didn’t expect to have a pleasant experience because I always have bad ones in prior but I did! Leo I think his name was. Was very nice and the other two guys as well. No complaints

One word. Garbage. Customer service and vehiclesI had a car reserved for 2 weeks.Received a call at 7am the day of the rental that my car would not be ready.Proposed a replacement that was smaller than what I reserved.I had to take it due to time constraints.Arrived at 9am. They had me wait 45 minutes for it to be washed.Gave me the car and it wasn’t washed. Even had dried Gum in the console. Disgusting.By far the worse experience ever.I WILL NEVER USE HERTZ AGAIN. TOO BAD WE CANNOT LEAVE 0 STARS
