I trust Derrell .. he tells me exactly what's going on & what he thinks is my best move .. even to the point of giving me tips on the best 'good' gasoline plus where & how to get. the best deal on it .. I was widowed over 5 years ago & I know I can trust him .. this means a lot to me

I had work done by this company the owner is very nice however he doesn't oversee his worker his worker left my lug nuts loose I didn't discover this till I was on the freeway going 65 mph which could have caused an accident or even worse also prices are expensive. Overall experience not impressed

If there's a few things you want in an auto repair mechanic and his shop they are integrity, honesty and to be treated fairly and not be over charged. I have been to the small car shop many times some moving to the Clovis/ Fresno area in 2004. At that time I didn't have much monkey and my car was shaking like I was about to lose a wheel. My girlfriend at the time told me about the Small Car Shop and how the owner always dealt fairly her. I called and made an appointment and dropped off my car. There is a charge for diagnostics but that's reasonable. It turns out my motor mounts were bad and it wasn't my tie rods as I had feared. He could have charged hundreds of more dollars on that repair had he said it was the tie rods as I had even suggested but he kept the charge in the low couple of hundred dollars. He explained motor mounts on Neons and PT Cruisers we're not his favorite jobs to tackle because Dodge placed them in especially difficult locations. Darrel, the owner is a heck of a nice guy. He does great work at a fair price and you'll never feel like he's taking advantage of you because you're a woman or man who may not be that knowledgeable about cars.

Our first service: great communication from start to finish. I was struck by the honest, straightforward nature of the owner.Our second service was more of the same: honest, straightforward, and conscientious. To top it off, they don't seem to be focused mainly on gouging the customer -- the cost, relative to dealer cost, was very reasonable.I have continued to receive only top-notch service from The Small Car Shop in subsequent visits. I was especially impressed, with a recent transmission issue, with their willingness to spend quite a bit of time with me discussing the issue and ensuring I understood clearly what my options were.Update: can't recommend this shop highly enough. Some people make the world a better place -- it will be a loss to Fresno and the surrounding communities if the owner ever decides to retire.Service: Steering & suspension repair

These guys do it the right way! New services offered include ceramic paint preservation and headlight restoration. Their general vehicle service plan is very thorough and reasonably priced. No fraud at this shop.
