Best prices around in terms of auto repair. Michael has 30+ years of experience with a specialty in European cars. I always take my BMW & Mercedes to Tri-City Import.

When the engine on my 2000 V Eurovan went out on I-880, I looked up shops with German motor experience, and had the vehicle towed to Tri-Cities. Mike gave me a couple of repair options, and I chose to have him rebuild the engine. A couple of months and few hundred miles down the road, the newly rebuilt engine started cutting out and the Check Engine Light started flashing. When I pulled it up to the shop, Mike stopped what he was doing and pulled the van into his bay. Following a quick determination that the problem was with one of the cylinders, Mike had me leave it and promised to get back to me. ASAP I got the call back within 24 hours and learned that a spark plug wire was malfunctioning. I was able to pick the van up that day. No extra charge.

We recently serviced our 2002 Merc from Tri-City. Mike had done a wonderful job of changing Transmission, Brakes and Tires for this old Merc. She really "looks new" now with a detailed overhaul interior shampoo and cleaning. Mike is trustworthy in parts replacement prices as well as labor charges which are very reasonable compared to dealer costs. Mike is very knowledgeable in fixing and servicing all of European and Japanese cars. We had recommended Tri-City to many of my office colleagues and friends.

Moved to Fremont and wanted to find a good and honest neighborhood mechanic. After trying a few, I've like to say that Tri-City Imports is a trustworthy business. He worked on my Porsche 911 Turbo and gave it back fast and in working order. Next day he worked on my commuter truck. Did a transmission filter and oil change. Never notice the hard shift before and now transmission shifts smoother. Would recommend to family and friends.

For my 6 series bmw suspension, Mike correctly diagnosed and suggested the best repairs. The dealership had suggested replacing control arm bushes only. Mike showed me the diagrams to help me understand why I should replace the entire control arm instead of just the bushings. Given the miles on my car, if I only replaced the bushes, the ball joints on the other end of the arm would have soon worn out anyway. The best part was that the total I paid for original parts plus his labor was much less than bmw dealership's estimate. Also later on Mike helped me with an unrelated clicking sound that had been bothering me. I spoke with another customer who also owned a convertible (hers was a Mercedes) and she said she always brought her cars there for maintenance and repairs. I would highly recommend Tri City imports services to other German car owners.

Given that this is the best place to get your car fixed with the personal touch that you most need with your important transportation equipment, i'd like to think this is a must visit if you're in automotive distress...

One of my car tire's hit a curb last week and got a small cut on it. Just to make sure it's not an issue I visited them after reading yelp reviews. The person at the shop was very helpful and gave his opinion that it's nothing to worry about and asked me how many miles the tires have done. Ofcourse, no charges incurred. If I ever have to take my car to a mechanic in the future, it will be this shop.

I went to Mike when my car completely stopped working.Earlier to mike I took the car,to so many people and everyone checked it and said it cost Atleast $800 to get it repaired,So one Day when I am walking to my home,I checked this shop ,I Thought to go and see what he is gonna Say When I went to mike he checked the car for 30min And give us an idea saying it may cost $250 plus TAX for Repair. So we dropped the car there. But we got a call from him by end of the day saying that the Car Is Ready to pick up. And a Great News is - He Said the charges are only $115 So What I can Simply say is Michael is Friendly,Honest,Very Resonable and Great Service. I would definitely recommend ... Especially to all Students like me.

No stars. Very disprectful and rude towards customers. Does not honor warranty that he wrote and gives an attitude when you ask him to fix his poor work. Tells customers to "Shut Up!" and taunts them. Should not be in business

I have always taken all my cars to the dealership for work and I guess that was my first mistake. My battery for my Audi A6 died and my husband tried to jump it but it didn't work. We found out the battery wasn't good and got a new one. The car started but the MMI display didn't work, so my CD, Radio and Navigation didn't work. I took it to the Audi dealer and they told me the cost would be around $5K. I told them forget it. I will live without it. Then I did a search on Yelp and found Michael. He had some good reviews. I took it to him and he said a couple of fuses were out and he charged me $85 to fix it. Everything is working fine. I will never take my car to the Audi dealer again. I have wasted a lot of money after the warranty ran out. From now on we are going to take all our cars to Michael. He is a very honest and hard working person. I have been telling everyone about Michael and will do my best to bring him more business.

I had an amazing experience here. I worked with another (gas-station) mechanic closer to my home for a year or so. One day, my car started misfiring. My mechanic told me that he couldn't repair the car because he didn't have the right tool from Volvo. I called around and the repair my mechanic suggested ran between $900-$1100 at different places. I took it into Michael and asked him to do the suggested repair. Later that day, Michael called me back and said that my mechanic was wrong and the car could be repaired for $200. This was *after* I gave him permission to do the more expensive work. Michael turned away approved work to save me money. Needless to say, Michael is my new mechanic.

I had my BMW X5 serviced here 3 times till date. I went off the 4 yelp positive reviews prior to to this and took a chance (its walking distance to where I rent right now). After the third service experience I was entirely convinced that this man is one of the most honest men who will try hard to save you money. In that attempt, he also indicated that I might have to come back again but the second time around he did not charge me for labor. He works by himself and has complete control over ensuring customer satisfaction.

I have owned a BMW for over 10 years and Michael is the only auto mechanic I have taken my car too because he is that good at diagnosing and repairing any problems I have, and all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Michael for any problems you may have with a BMW or any German car.

For auto repair for German cars or other imported cars, you will be very happy with Tri-City Imports. If you're looking for the best auto repair with the best mechanic in Fremont, look no further!! And even if you live a little further away it is worth your time and money to come here. I've been taking my two older German cars (a Mercedes and BMW) to this auto repair shop for foreign cars for about 8 years and could not recommend Mike's repair shop more highly. He carefully diagnoses tricky problems (like electrical problem on my older Mercedes), makes sound/practical recommendations on what to fix or leave alone. His results are far superior than my prior repair shops and his prices are VERY fair. He fixed things that the other shops said were fixed but were not (and they charged me an arm-and-a-leg for too). Mike carries lots of parts and/or procures them quickly and his turn around is often same day. I sometimes also use Tri-City Imports for oil changes instead of going to Jiffy Lube or Oil Changers. It's a little more expensive for oil changes but on the other hand sometimes Mike finds small things that need fixing and just does them for free! I actually look forward to taking my car in. He is reliable, courteous and as honest as they come. I shall be a lifelong customer for Mike's Tri-City Imports.
