Not a good experience and I won't be back. I had problems with a loud music speaker over my head playing 70 rock music while they were drawing my blood. They wouldn't adjust despite my asking 3 times. Even the manager would not turn it down (or change the genre). They acted like they were going to do something about it when I asked the first time and didn't, and then ignored me the next 2 times. After the session I spoke to the manager and she told me that the music has to be that load to protect the privacy of people in the intake rooms, so the music has to be very loud in the office everywhere so no one overhears anything being discussed during intake. Get some insulation!!!. Change the type of music!!!. Also, I didn't think the place seemed clean and I didn't see the nurses using gloves correctly, or at all, or changing them when they should! Some of the employees have bad indifferent attitudes (go work somewhere else, we are DONATING OUR BLOOD!, you should be kind and caring). The manager is inadequate. I won't be back, there is better elsewhere.

Terrible customer service. If I could give it zero stars I would. My parent had a scheduled appointment and she wasn't helped because she didn't speak English.

May 30: Friendly staff and a clean place but understaffed. Took a long time to get in and longer for the blood draw.Edit May 31: I’m changing my review down to one star:Yesterday when it was my turn for the blood draw, there were two staff members doing the blood draw , they were good at it too.Unfortunately when it was my turn, a new lady came in and began the process on me. She didn’t know what she was doing ,she inserted the whole lengthy of the needle into supposedly vein but blood didn’t flow; another staff came to help her. They moved the needle all around the vein till blood started flowing but it stopped and this went on several times… I asked them to remove it but they said it’s gonna work. I’m not afraid of needles and tried to be a good sport so I went along. ;Been donating blood several times but this never happenedAfter it was finally over, they put an ice pack on the area and I went home. But had to go to ER at midnightAfter seven hours, every time I wanted to remove the gauze, blood started to come out. I’m not taking any meds or blood thinnersIt’s the next morning now and I have a bruised arm and a lot of pain from the inner elbow down to my wrist. Can’t lift my arm. It’ll take 2-3 days to heal . And I’m not complaining much but my suggestion for the management team:Please make sure you have professional people at the job, people like me would like to help others by donating blood, experiences like this might affect this.

If each of us who are regular donors could recruit just one new donor...

Marcus made my first experience amazing. He talked to me the whole time and made it super easy with how anxious I am. Jessica is also super nice to talk to. Amazing staff. Thank you both!

I have been coming to this donation center for a few years now. Even when pandemic hit, I would drive the 20 miles to come to this center as it became my home donation center since it's close to my work office. The staff here is exceptional. They are professional and friendly and always striving to give the best service. There are quite a few regulars. Keep up the great work!

I give the American red cross a five star rating. My friend had her gal bladder taken out and had internal bleeding and she had a bunch of blood transfusions so I told my mom and I got my blood donated this is the second time I can't wait to do more.

I have been here over 100 times. The entire staff has ALWAYS been nice. I keep coming back because I know it is helping someone somewhere. The donor app tracks where your donation goes Mine have gone as far East as Maine and as far West as Saipan. I am always treated well and thanked for my donations. Some experiences are better than others but I always feel good about what I have done. Susan, Marcus,Elizabeth,Wendi,Maria, Patty and the others are all professional and pleasant. I hope to get there another 100 times!

I've donated blood at a couple different locations and Fountain Valley is definitely my favorite. The staff are extremely welcoming, kind and professional. I always recommend making appointments ahead of time. Some places will have you waiting a while even with an appointment, so I appreciate that this location is punctual, as I've never had to wait long. The staff seem to have very great communication with each other and extremely organized. I passed out once after donating here (lol) and they were really kind and caring, I think it was Marcus specifically that helped me. Thank you! I donated here again recently and the female staff, didn't get her name unfortunately, could tell I wasn't feeling 100% so she put a wet towel over my head and went the extra steps to take care of me without me even having to ask. These are the kind of people we need!! Attentive, proactive and caring. Thanks so much. This is my top choice of location to donate, too bad I don't live here.

Hello future blood donor,This Fountain Valley location was a decent facility at which to donate. It's in an industrial area where all of the modern buildings look the same and the sign doesn't stand out at all.I was here to donate platelets back on July 23, 2022, during Shark Week!Yeah! Shark Week t-shirts were handed out for those who donated from July 21- July 24, 2022. Very cool.So a few tips for first-time platelet donaters:+ eat lots of yummy greens and proteins beforehand+ stay extra hydrated the day/night before+ don't drink anything at least an hour before your appointment+ platelet donations take around 2 hours+ bring your own blanket, but don't be afraid to ask for more blankets because getting cold is NOT going to help your donation go by faster+ think of a good Netflix show or movie you want to watch beforehand+ relax, don't tense up... you're amazing. Pass it on.My platelets are always used up within a matter of days. That feels good, of course. Use the app to find out when and where your blood was used (not that of that really matters, but again I'm grateful someone was able to accept it).No issues with the staff at my 11AM appointment. They love my veins. Lol.Now I just wish American Red Cross would set up a chapter near my new residence in Southeast New Mexico.

Made an appointment and it was confirmed in an email. Did my rapid pass so I was ready. Show up today 8/19 to find the place closed. Called red cross and they said it was showing open on their end. The days and hours were posted on there door also showing they should be open. Go somewhere else.

First I was greeted by a nice young lady who checked me in for my 0745a appointment. Use to like coming to this location but today had "unwelcomed" feeling from tech, Marcus. I came here wanting to try and do my best to help others. I have NUMEROUSLY donated POWER RED and felt appreciated by this location in the past. Today Marcus (I hope that was his name as he didn't introduce himself) He looked at my arms and said "are you sure you have done Power Red"??? I said yes I have numerous times and could prove it to him. He made me feel like I was bothering him and incoveniecing his morning. I did tell him I was prepared to do the whole blood donation as I was here and wanted to help. Ok next came the blood pressure test.. He said I was high and I am pre hypertensive and had not yet take my meds today... Regrettably he made me feel like I did it on purpose . I drove from Long Beach because I like this location.. With gas prices and time I would have wish I had been appreciated even if I wasn't able to donate today. Sure makes me change my feeling toward trying to donate.. Also no one else was there so wasn't like he was busy. I have donated 33 units of blood and during Covid19 times I would think blood donations are slow... He sure needs to fake it and SMILE.

Today was my first time donating blood and it was such a nice experience! I scheduled my appointment online and it went very smooth. Wendi was my main lady, she was the sweetest. She walked me through every step! I told her it was my first time and that needles made me nervous; she told the other workers, they all kept checking in on me to make sure I felt alright. There was another lady training and her and her trainer were very thorough as well. There was no push to schedule my next appointment, but I had such a great experience, I scheduled my next donation before I left! Thanks ladies!
