I've been renting from Hertz for years without issue (also a Gold Rewards member), but the experience with this particular location was so bad that I'll probably never bother renting from Hertz ever again. Rude service and a vehicle that was dirtier than a remote gas station bathroom.

Full-size SUV upgrade was given even though the reservation was for Mid-size SUV. The only negative comment for this location is that there are significant number of cars that are relatively old and have significant number of miles on them.

Extremely unorganized and terrible customer service. I reserved a car the night before at a good weekly rate before the Thanksgiving price gouge kicked in. I received a call in the morning that they accidentally overbooked and did not have a car, but to expect one by the end of the day. I was told I would receive a call. A call never came. I had to call them multiple times just to be told there are no vehicles for the rest of the day. They said the price would not carry over to the next day, despite their overbooking mistake and making me wait all day. I believe they intentionally want me to pay the inflated weekly rate of the next day ($601 up from $180). What kind of business does not honor a rate your reserved? I am a regular customer who rented a vehicle every single week for over a year straight until the summer price hikes. If they would treat a regular like this, how will they treat you as a new customer? I have even overheard the employees talk trash about other customers as they leave. If you are depending on a next day rental, never ever ever consider this location.

Amazing location and even better staff. I promise you if your not giving this location a 5 star you may want to look into the mirror (hint, you may be the problem) if you go here with a good attitude, the staff here will bend over backwards to help you!!!

Staff is not respectful at all, I would even say bully-type. They don't offer solutions when the issues are clearly theirs. They gave me a car that was unsafe to drive. I returned it early and they did not reimbursed what I had prepaid. Awful service, stay away from them.

Folsom Hertz rental car is the bestBrian helped us out at the last minute. Awesome customer service. If I ever need another rental, they have my business.

Worst customer service. I dealt with Tori who is the assistant manager. When I was renting the car she was loudly complaining about customers to her coworker. When I returned the car she said I was going to have $100 charge for cleaning since the car was going to take more than 5 to 7 minutes to clean. It literally took me three minutes to vacuum and two minutes to wipe down. When I asked about the cleaning fee because I clearly told her other coworker chips were spilled in the car she said that was fine and they were looking for gum to be smashed into the carpet or the car to be used as a litter box. Tori said she was not going to debate with me and to read my rental contract. When she gave me the price quote I asked for a breakdown in which she could not provide me she quoted me $258 and when my card was charged it was $298. I asked why the difference as I literally just showed asked her and she was like my computer didn't show it. Never again will I use them and she is the assistant manager. I should've looked up their reviews on yelp before using them and now I see why they have such horrible stars.

I would like to give zero stars to this location and Hertz in general too, but alas yelp does not let me do it. I am shocked with such poor customer service at this Folsom Hertz location. The staff (EJ and I guess the other lady is Tori) are just so awful to deal with. Rude, unprofessional and total liars. They don't care about your experience one bit. We had booked a mid-size SUV for a ten day trip about 2 months ago and the day off we get an email saying a pickup truck was assigned to us.. a truck.. really??!! We had to call the location (obviously since the staff doesnt care enough to call you) to ensure we got the car we reserved. Eventually when we get there, they do have a midsize SUV. You would think the nightmare ends there but wait. The car didn't have any wiper fluid left, needed an oil change, was smoked in and just covered up with a strong overpowering perfume. Sadly it was a Fri evening and our plans meant we had to leave early Sat morning and the location was closed. We had to get in touch with hertz customer service and they recommended we get the car exchanged at an international airport which was about 2.5hrs out of the way from our planned itinerary. Eventually we were told that Hertz will file a ticket on our behalf and when we return the car the least they would do is refund us the money. When we got back to return the car, the Folsom location did not give a damn about our complaints, and instead told we were lying as they could not smell anything in the car now. Duh its been 10 days and we did not smoke, idiots!!! The best they could do was a $50 hertz certificate. We were told eventually that they will check with their superiors if they could do better than this and call us in the next couple of days. Guess what happened, ofcourse no call back. After a week when we called back, they said $50 is the best they can and that too cannot be added to the account. We would have to come collect the voucher and meet those rude people. I am certain they did not even check with their superiors. We should have looked at the reviews before booking at this location. You can do better than that Hertz! Never renting at Folsom Hertz again. The deals may seem good but its not worth your energy dealing with the awful staff. And this is coming from a Hertz gold member for about 10yrs now. We even provided poor feedback to central Hertz but got no response. I guess that is how this location has been surviving even with all these terrible reviews.

The worst experience ever. Booked a 7 seater Van for a trip with family and friends a month in advance. We booked with Hertz since my wife gets a gold membership being an Intel employee. Call 2 days before pickup to confirm and all was set. On the day we went their to pickup the vehicle and was told that the vehicle had gone for a cleanup and would take another 2 hours to pick. Since we lived nearby we went back and came after 2 hours. They said the vehicle was still in wash and if we wanted it we have to pick it up at the car wash in Rancho. After much back and forth they said they have an alternate 7 seater in another hour. So we came back home and returned after an hour for pickup of new vehicle. Fortunately they had the vehicle and we got it. In all this talk the lady at the front desk was extremely rude in her talk and behavior. It was as if she owned us and was doing is a favor by giving a car. When we booked the vehicle we said that we would drop the vehicle at Intel campus where hertz has a designated parking spot. We did as was told by them and agreed upon. We dropped the car at Intel FM5 and called them to let them know that we have dropped the vehicle. They said everything was fine. Next day onwards they started charging $50 on my card for the car not being returned. I called them up and the lady at the front desk said that its charged because they haven’t picked up the car yet. The amount will be refunded once they pick up which should be soon. She spoke as if it was normal and that she would pick it up at her leisure. This went on for 2 more days. On the third day when we called them up, the lady started yelling at us and cussing my wife. Fed up, me and my wife went and picked the car back and dropped at Hertz. At the office, the manager apologized for the lady’s behavior. All in all a very bad experience with Hertz. Throughout the transaction the lady behaved very rudely and almost started using foul language against us.I am going to file a formal complaint with Hertz against her.

Read the reviews. Super unprofessional! Made a reservation a week prior got a message stating to call the day of just an hour before to confirm just for some snobby girl to tell me sorry but the reservations are done in Oklahoma and we don’t have a car available for you. With all due respect thank you but no thank you glad I didn’t even get a car. Terrible service.

Dont rent a car from Hertz. I rented a car over a month in advance but had to change car and time. So i wanted to cancel. $50 out of a $174 rental! Really oh read the small print, If its so important then put it in LARGE PRINT! Rip Off. Now im on hold over a hour for Customer Service because in stead of charging me the $50 they charged me $124! POS. I left Hertz and Went to Enterprise instead. Yep still on hold.

They don't have the car i reserved and got a car finally with long discussion. Staff does not know about most of the things. Used pay for fuel option before dropping of airport, they charged full. When renting at Folsom staff said i will only be charged for used fuel. and the support guys does not respond.

This location is a JOKE!! Theybcaused me to be late to a very important meeting because they did NOT have my rental ready as booked!! I had confirmed reservation for 730am and they did not even have a car there for me when I came in at 750am!! They said they had to go pick up the car and would take 30 more minutes! They NEVER called to let me know ahead of the time and etc of their problem. I waited outside and they STILL didn't come out to let me know the car arrived. They car was NOT washed inside or out and only had 3/8 tank of gas!! They tried to give me a voucher to get a car wash!! I WAS ALREADY LATE TO AN APPOINTMENT OUT OF TOWN AND IT COST ME LOST MONEY!!! They did not seem to care when I was in the office at all. The same time I was there...I saw another customer storm out pissed off. And I also heard their office conversation about no one went to go pick up a customer and someone needed to hurry and go get them! SMFH. The office was just completely unorganized and the employees seem to have NO urgency! I will be posting my review on their social media and demand to speak with a district manager or higher. That office is a JOKE!! I will post this on car rental booking sites also.
