I am surprised by all the low reviews! I had a blast renting here and will continue!! What really impressed me is the friendy staff,awesome car,and easy drop off!!!!

I arrived at 8am to return a car but the location was closed/door locked. The website, door signage and Avis customer service all confirmed hours for the Folsom, CA location are 8am-5pm. I waited for 20 minutes for someone to arrive, nothing. I talked with Avis customer service and they said there was nothing they could do for me. I tried the Avis mobile app and the return car feature was not available at the Folsom, CA location. Abysmal customer service. I dropped the key through the door slot - Avis you need to figure this out. I expect better customer service from Avis in the future otherwise you will lose valuable customers.

I have been renting here on a regular basis for the past year. Always very fast and efficient. Very convenient to have a location like this close to home.

Showed up at Avis 11/24 at 3:30 for our reservation time to get a vehicle swapped out due to a chunk missing from the sidewall of the tire of the current rental I have and nobody is there. Lights are on, tv is on, and nobody answered the door. Called customer service and they kept telling us that they close at 5:00pm after a continuous uphill battle and constantly telling them nobody was there they ultimately said they couldn’t help us. Extremely frustrated with this company.. please get your stuff together.

Worst car service. I had reserved a car with baby seat. Went to pick the car in the evening for next day early morning travel, assisting person said they don’t have car seat. Next question - do you still need a car, most sickest question, nothing like let me check at another rental place or interest to help. After some time he told he will not rent me a car, and told to leave. This was in May 2022.

1) Got a very dirty car. Requested to clean. Denied saying don't have cleaning service. Finally got an unsanitized car.2) paper work says fuel tank is full but found it to be 1/8 of tank.

These guys are literal frauds and I will be reporting this to their customer service and business bureau if my complaint is not resolved!Firstly I booked a Camry for our trip from Sac to SFO. When I got there they only has 2 cars available and were still small than a camry. In urgent need of a car I figured my 2 suitcases would still be able to fit in the Honda Civic trunk vs the other car which had smaller trunk space. The representative did no checks with car and said "it's just a bit dirty but this is what we have." I had no other options except to take the car as I had to leave. I still vacuumed the seats before driving off as it also had some pet hair. It looked like as if the car had been to a beach and had some light weed odor as well. I also got 2 car seats which were clean. I have the receipt saying my charge was $173 for renting. My card got charged $247.00 instead. I was already going to call on this matter that I receive a letter today stating the car was too dirty and that I should cover this damage and will be charged $250.00!!?!? Like are you Serious!? This is what you guys gave me. I didn't get the car I asked for, I wasn't charged what the receipt said AND I am responsible to pay for apparent excessive sand which was there in the first place and you guys should have taken care of before handing me the car? I mentioned the car is very dirty and they said "this is all we have." The only extra charge I was expecting was the gas because I did not fill it up all the way on my return to airport , so therefore that was expected. Oh just to mention, the car also had its engine light on. Absolutely disappointed! I have never had such horrible experience in my past car rentals and this is why I am here to post this review because it was that important!Ridiculous!

They gave us a car with mechanical issues. The oil light kept turning red and beeping. We called and tried to swap the car but they kept giving us the run around. We finally decided to drive back to Sacramento Airport to swap it for a new car, they tried to give us a smaller car, when we asked for the same car we had previously, they gave us serious attitude, not once apologized, then gave us a dirty car. If we end up contracting Covid due to the dirty and unsanitized card, Avis will need to reimburse us for vacation interruption and medical expenses. The lady (older Latina) at the Sacramento airport in June 18 around 9:30 am was extremely rude, mean and unprofessional.

Good service but sometimes the cars can come without cleaning. Be aware of that. Otherwise everything else is perfect.

If I could leave ZERO star I would.I rented a car for a week, might possibly need something for a few months while my truck is still on order.I was asked to wear a mask and I mentioned I have a medical(mental health) exemption. The state of California recognizes exemptions and asks businesses to provide reasonable accommodation. I said I’m happy to be helped outside. The agent working at 2pm January 21st said he could not help me outside because he would be at risk. If his mask works and I’m assuming (his vaccine) works then he is not at risk.I went to Enterprise in Rancho Cordova on Sunrise and got my rental with no issue. If this is company policy not to make a reasonable accommodation then the company will miss out on a lot of business.Even worse, if this was the employees decision not to help me.. good lord ?♂️If staying 6 feet away works and I already had a reservation, he could have helped me outside from 6 feet away and tossed me the keys. The lack of common sense (it’s been 2 years) looks real real bad on you Avis.Change your policy or replace said employee with someone who’s willing to work within the California guidelines of medical exemptions and reasonable accommodation.

Avoid this location !!! Cars are old and not cleaned at all !!!Booked SUV for 1 week from this location using Costco Travel. Arrived to pickup the car. The location was taking all precautions for COVID, so I was initially impressed. Signed the paperwork and got the keys. Opened the car and the car was smelling of cigarette smoke and was dirty. All the precautions taken to take care of themselves were not followed for the customers. Took the keys back and asked if a replacement car was available. I was expecting a negative answer and got the same from the employee since they were trying to offload a dirty car.Hate to leave a bad review for local business but need to bring to attention of all concerned. Granted that rental car companies have upper hand in current situation but for the money they are charging they should at least deliver. I would advise everyone to be extra careful and watchful while renting from this Avis location.
