We asked these guys to tune up or 2004 Volvo for our daughter to drive. Initial estimate of $400, ended up at $1200. Still having trouble with the car, so I went in to change the ignition coils and spark plugs. These are the corroded, burnt-out spark plugs after their 'tune-up'. Avoid this place like the plague.

I should have shared this years ago, but I would like to pass along my sincerest appreciation and highest endorsement of Danny Covo, and his son Michael, who operate Fallbrook's Autoheim, European and Import Auto Repair.As a retired military and commercial airline pilot, my life - and the lives of my crew and passengers - depended on the the quality of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs made to the aircraft I flew. In choosing an automotive repair shop to service my family's vehicles, those qualities remained unchanged, but had to also be pocketbook friendly. How I came to choose Autoheim as my "go to" automotive repair shop occurred 8 years ago after visiting a handful of other Fallbrook shops that gave up trying to fix an intermittent electrical problem with my then Ford Expedition. Danny's son Michael took on this problem, didn't give up until he figured it out, fixed it, and charged a reasonable price (replaced the cracked circuit breaker panel). I've taken my cars (Jaguar, MINI, SAAB, Ford Excursion, Mercedes, Triumph, and Volkswagen) to Autoheim ever since.If you are looking for a dependable, quality, and value driven automotive repair shop (whether you live in Fallbrook or not), I highly recommend Autoheim for all your vehicle repair needs. If you want to pay double to triple the price of the dealer go here. Danny is a hustler. He charged $3200 to install a light bulb, a battery & a window switch. Car was returned with the battery box submersed in water. He didn’t put car back together properly causing permanent damage.. He refuses to supply estimate prior to working. $500 went to $3200 with no recourse if we wanted our car. Read the other reviews. I’m not the only one. He also forged my initials on paperwork because he knows he’s wrong! Shady business. HORRIBLE SERVICE & PRICE GOUGING!Services: Auto power window repair

After being gone from the Fallbrook area for quite a few years, I returned, and of course I had a problem with my vehicle. I went to auto Hime, and was grateful to see Danny still had his business, which was always awesome. He and his son Mike draft of the were doing scoped my vehicle with a couple adjustments, fixed the problem, and no time compared to dropping it off to a total stranger.It’s nice to know there are great father-son businesses still running the world properly, and I am extremely appreciative. I have several different kinds of cars; have had my Mercedes Metris, my old jeep Cherokee, and our VW serviced promptly and with helpful tips, no matter what the problem is! Today I dropped by because I had a darn engine light on my Metris, but I didn’t know why. It was looked at promptly, several issues identified, and I was on my way (with no engine light!;) right away! Service is friendly and a good value!Services: Electrical repair

These guys are a rip off. They charged me $3200 for a battery, window switch and a light bulb. This same work at the BMW dealer wouldn't have been more than $800. Danny refused to give me a written estimate before doing the work and kept up-ing the price so I wasn't ever sure what he was fixing for that price. My car was returned with a bad transmission. Did he think I would rather pay $3200 for a window than having my tranny fixed? He didn't even mention the more serious engine issues until I had paid him $3200 and picked up the car.

Danny seems like a nice old man but beware! It's a con. We're quoted first $500 to diagnose window issue, 2hrs later it was $1250, then $2400 then topped out at just over $3200! He refused to give us a written estimate prior to working as required by law. $3200 for a battery and a window switch!!!! SMHService: Electrical repair
