I WISH I COULD GET THIS PLACE 0 STAR.
I visited 24 Hour Fitness for a free trial, and my experience was awful from the start. When I arrived at the front desk, no one greeted me. I said "hi" and stood there smiling, but the two employees were too busy chatting and completely ignored me. One of the guys actually looked at me as if I was some kind of inconvenience, like "why is she standing here?" or "what is she waiting for?" I had to ask, "Can I talk to you or not?" and he straight-up said "no." Unbelievable! Eventually, his coworker reluctantly helped me set up the trial, but no one bothered to show me around or explain anything. I'm glad I didn't commit to a membership before trying the facility because this was just a mess. If you're upset about working on Labor Day, that's not my problem, but treating customers like this is just unacceptable. What the heck?

Dan the general manager is an awful human being. Who has the worst customer service skills and is by far the greediest person I have ever dealt with on the phone. Stay away from this dirty gym, all they want is your money.

You pay a certain amount because that is what you're told. So you think that's it you have paid your yearly amount... until they charge you a "re-enlisting charge" I believe it's what he said.
Why not express that when re-signing...? doing it without someone's notice and in their back is completely shady. I guess I will have to check my bank account so that this isn't recurrent, I'd never know if they're just gonna bleed my account. Truly deceptive.

I started going to this location for aqua fit classes a few months ago. I have to agree with many others that the condition of the facility is not good. The Aqua Fit instructor is amazing but at times the pool is downright disgusting. The aqua weights and noodles are falling apart. But my most recent experience is the one that will prevent me from going back. I made the mistake of purchasing a package of 4 stretching/coaching sessions. I was told I would have 60 days to use the 4 sessions I purchased. It was a kind of a rushed purchased as they were running a promotion. Shame on me for not taking the time to read all the fine print instead trusting that the details had been fully disclosed. To my surprise 30 days later another charge hit my card. I reached out to person I worked with to purchase, he said oh yeah my manager was supposed to cancel that. What???
I am still trying to get my money back and will find a new gym.

I have been going to this 24hr fitness location since it opened. It used to be extremely nice and updated. Unfortunately, it has gone far downhill. The upstairs AC has been broken for months, it shocks me that this isn't there top priority to get fixed. It's so hot upstairs, I stopped going to work out, because I literally felt like I was going to pass out. There's three TVs upstairs, one has been completely out of service for years (you would think they would at least remove it) and the other one just broke. So now there's only one TV working upstairs. A lot of the gym equipment is constantly broken, and it seems like it never gets fixed. Cleansiness is extremely poor and many times paper towels are out and no one's refilling them. I used to really enjoy this location, and I really hope that they can make some major improvements in the future. oh and PLEASE FIX THE AC!!

I don’t know why they think it’s okay to not fix the AC on the second floor. They placed some fans instead of fixing the AC. It’s so musty and it stinks upstairs. People are fighting for their lives because they’re over heating upstairs. A gym without AC should be shut down!!

Oh yeah the ac is broken and when you step in the weight room, you can literally feel the heat/dense. Besides this place making Sales , I don’t understand why they don’t invest Place and make it better make it the best in San Diego, but then again, it’s all greed they don’t care

The cardio equipment is not kept up. Equipment that needs repair is never fixed. I have been a member for 25 years and have watched the decline of cleanliness, equipment, classes and safety!

THIS GYM IS A DUMP NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT ASAP
This 24hour Gym location has the worst equipment and equipment maintenance that I have ever seen for a gym. A good majority of the cable machines are either broken or lack service. The pectoral fly machine seat is a sever danger to any person that goes in there the pin that keeps the seat up is broken and there was a 45lbs plate shoved under the seat holding it up, Yikes. The Manager Dan is one by far one of the worst managers in the customer service industry. I’m just curious where all the gym fees and “equipment maintenance” fees are going, because it ain’t the equipment it seems to be allocated somewhere else like in his pocket. I have been in better Gyms in the middle of Afghanistan that have better quality and hygiene than this dump. The worst part is the other nicer facility down the road is too packed out so most locals are forced to give their money to this slum lord. I can wait for an EOS Gym or something to open up in Escondido.

I have been a member at the Terraza location for almost 2 years using only the exercise machines and rowing machines. The final straw for me cancelling my membership yesterday was the lack of AC upstairs for the past year, especially now with the super-hot temps, but in addition to that, the men's bathrooms always have pee on the floor around the urinals. The gym is very crowded Mon-Tues-Wed. The water fountains are very slow. The two TVs upstairs only have court TV on or sports news. Many times no music is playing. It is the only gym I have ever belonged to over my 45 years of membership that didn't have a bench press machine. Backpacks are left everywhere on machines to reserve them for when the person comes back from exercising on some other machine. People sit and text on their phones for 5 minutes for every 1 minute they are working out. And lastly, when the machines break down, several months go by before they ever get repaired. Now I do have to say that the day after I quit, the general manager emailed me asking why I quit to see if I would change my mind and for future improvements. My answer to him was the above.

BEST MGR & STAFF out of ALL 24 hour fitness locations. Just wish they'd stayed open 24 hours like before.

Needs to be cleaned…. Badly… and it’s the same every time.
If it were my gym, I would be embarrassed of the filth. Is it really that difficult???

Locker room is cleaner than most other 24-hour Fitnesses in San Diego, but there is still lots of room for improvement. The accessible shower curtain had mold and the walls of the shower were dirty with mold. The other showers seemed to have the same issue. Other than that, I’m surprised that everything seemed to be in working order instead of like the Amena Court location or the Imperial location which have multiple issues with things broken, clogged or not working in the women’s locker room alone. I’ve been to about 8 different locations in San Diego and it seems that 24-hour fitness as a whole is not very concerned about cleanliness or sanitation.

Used to love coming to this gym to play basketball but now they rent the basketball court during the most inconvenient hours to a basketball team with no prior notice to clients other than a sign on the door. They have now changed the days again without any prior notice.
