Very unprofessional and lacking in customer service. I went there yesterday morning and bought 3 small sample sizes of Spartwalll Velvet interior. After putting the samples on the wall, about an hour later I went back to the store to buy 2 gallons. The same salesperson then informed me they were out of the base required to make the paint, but they can upgrade me for another $40 to a higher grade paint or drive 30 minutes to another location. Justin the salesperson offered to discount the up charges, which was perfect. Then the temporary manager (Lenard) stepped in and told the salesperson he can’t give any discount, which was frustrating.
1) they should have told me when I bought the samples they were out of the base. I could have just as easily driven to their other location to buy the paint.
2) offfering a discount would have completely changed my vie of their customer service…even if it was $10. Not my fault they didn’t have a basic ingredient to make paint.
3) Leonard stepping in to negate an offer to rectify was just a further insult, the Julie the store manager agreed with him on the phone.
4) so for $10 they lost a customer who over the years has spent hundreds if not thousands painting my house during renovations. Now I will just go to Sherwin Williams right down the street. Very poor customer service and a manager who is in the wrong position.

I can't recommend them because they were not open. All on-line sites state 5pm as closing time. Upon arrival at 4pm, all was closed with a printed sign on the door stating 3:30 as closing time. Actually makes sense but why not take the time to update the website and be respectful of customer time too?

Love the service and the selection - very responsive and easy to work with, and if you have questions about finishes and types of paint for specific surfaces, well, these guys are pros. Be sure to ask you HOA if they have a negotiated discount - Mine did and it saved me a lot! If you use a professional painter, they will have great discounts as well....

Was selling a house where I needed to match nine year old Dunn Edwards paint colors and the staff couldn't have been more helpful & friendly. Was in & out quickly and felt like I received courteous professional service attention. Well done-

My paint contractor sent me over to pick up a new sprayer as the one on our job died. The store clerk would not let me buy it. She said the contractor must be present. Kind of difficult when he's half way across the county. Even a call from the paint contactor would not suffice. That's a $1,000+ loss for them today.

I'm a contractor who shops at multiple paint locations and stores. I've never had a store tell me they won't give me a co tractor discount without an account set up. Your contractors license is all that is required for a discount. Bianca was not friendly and unhelpful with helping me receive a contractors discount. She didn't even offer to set up an account after stating I didn't have one. Very disappointed in Dunn-Edwards employee and service

CAREFUL WHEN YOU ASK SOMETHING HERE BECAUSE THE PAINTS ARE GREAT BUT THE SELLERS DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIFFERENT SHEENS AND QUALITIES. THEY WILL GUESS AND MIS GUIDE YOU. PAINTS ARE VERY GOOD TO BE FAIR.

My photo attached to this review might look like nothing, and that is exactly the point! The wall paint we purchased this morning was such a perfect match that you can't even see the massive patch in the wall. In total I had to patch about 10 square feet of the walls within this room. Our remaining original touch up paint had gone bad, and we had no idea what the exact paint was to order more. The sticker was not accurate to the paint in the can, and we didn't know where to start.The assistant manager Amirah was flawlessly helpful when we realized we had purchased the wrong product. Natalie, another worker, helped us understand the exact problem with the paint we were trying to use. And the gentleman (I didn't get his name) who matched and mixed the paint we took home and used was spot on. He must have mixed 5-10 samples over and over to get the perfect match.I'm sure we must have seemed like just another set of customers with the same old problems, but when you are remodeling a house it is rare to come across a problem and have is solved so easily!We are so thankful for the ease, and will definitely be return customers for life.

The customer service here is consistently horrible. I can't believe they would hire such unfriendly people. Even with my discount I have decided to stop using Dunn Edwards and go with another paint brand as I just can't deal with the bad customer service. Danielle, The woman with the long reddish hair,seems to take great pride in making her customers feel as uncomfortable and unwelcome as possible. If they get rid of her I'd be happy to come back. I was going to try the Via Del la Valle store, but they have even worse reviews!

After a recent bad experience at our local Dunn Edwards, I called Encinitas Dunn Edwards to make sure they would honor an executive discount account before I drove over. Amirah answered, confirmed the code quickly, was super friendly and customer service oriented. When I arrived 20 minutes later, she was ready with the paint curbside, had a terrific smile - (I could tell even with her wearing her mask and wearing it CORRECTLY, unlike my previous visit to local store). Dunn Edwards has a real winner with Amirah..... I will drive the extra miles to visit her store again!

The staff is great here! Very helpful and friendly from Joe mixing up the paint to Andreza in design consultation. She is amazing with her approach to helping you pick the right colors for your room.
