We decided to go with EDCP when we knew we wanted something with a bit more detail and care. Cannot be more happy with our process and level of communication. Kyle and Ruthie work well together and are honest in their approach. Their team was dedicated and prompt in their delivery. Enoch is amazing in teaching what owners need to know. Thanks so much and we know that they are always available for any questions or concerns.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with our decision to work with El Dorado Custom Pools. Kyle, Jackie, and their entire crew transformed our backyard into an absolute paradise! From the very beginning, they were professional, attentive, and truly understood our vision.
The pool and surrounding landscaping are stunning, but what really stands out is how much our kids love it! Watching them enjoy every moment in the water has made this investment so worthwhile. The attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident in every inch of the project.
Beyond just the pool, Kyle and Jackie created an outdoor space that we find ourselves enjoying daily. Whether it’s relaxing by the pool or hosting friends and family, our backyard has become the ultimate gathering spot.
We can’t recommend Kyle, Jackie, and the crew at El Dorado Custom Pools enough to anyone looking to create a beautiful and functional outdoor oasis. Their expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction are second to none!

My experience with this pool company has been extremely disappointing. Their customer service is terrible—they fail to meet contractual deadlines, ignore messages, and often miss scheduled appointments. Communication with Ruthie Newell has been subpar at best, and despite Kyle Adams being the owner, he is completely uninvolved in the project. It has been over two years, and they still haven't fulfilled all their contractual obligations. This company clearly doesn't prioritize their clients. There are plenty of other excellent pool companies out there. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this one!

They tried hard but there were many delays getting equipment causing a 3-month project to become a one-year project. The main problem is installing broken equipment and then just leaving it. They promised to get the broken components replaced from the manufacturer as soon as possible. The pump controller was jerry-rigged to get it to work by by-passing the GFCI protection. I've been waiting since May 2022 for my pool to be finished. Yuck!!!

We started this project by getting several bids. Despite reading some negative reviews and hearing some unfortunate issues that come along with digging an in-ground pool in EDH, my wife and I decided to move forward with El Dorado Custom Pools. We did not want to paint the picture we had for our yard with someone else's brush and we are sure glad that we didn't. Kyle, Ruthie, Bill, Enok and so many more have all been great. A super knowledgable team that has been doing this pool game for years! I cant think of one time that my concerns were not addressed and my questions not answered in a timely fashion. Communication has been key and on point! Real people doing real work. Thank you Kyle and Ruthie, you guys rock! Harry and MaryJane

Reading reviews and then checking cslb.ca.gov. - seems this appears to be a common business name. In other words, some reviews for the same business name do have a license, while others don't...and these are apparently combined under one common YELP listing... BUYER BEWARE - SOME ARE LICENSED, WHILE OTHERS ARE expired or suspended....Be sure your contractor is currently licensed, lists a CSLB contractor's license number on all advertising and is currently insured before entering into a contract.Yelp needs to address this ASAP.

I called Erik with El Dorado Custom Pools over 4 years after the company completed my project and was treated fantastic.. Erik & Kyle came out to the house and took a look at my concern. It turns out that the chemicals were not balanced and the finish was looking spotty. The guys recommended what to do to fix the issue and also recommended a new service provider. Years after project completion and still treating customers as family. Thank you El Dorado Custom Pools!

Worst Experience ever with El Dorado Custom Pools (EDCP), I would advise you to find an alternative pool builder, this is not the company that you want to do business with. Our pool project started in late March 2022 with and estimated completion date of July 2022. Then after many issues encountered by the builder, they missed the original completion date. They then provided verbal confirmation that it would be completed in Aug, then Sept, then Oct, then Nov. Finally, we had to cut ties with them and begin the process of finding a new pool company to finish the pool build. There was problem after problem with EDCP, here are the ones I noted:• Honesty and Integrity - They don’t have the expertise to assess a situation and how to move forward, we encountered hard rock (not uncommon for the area).o The overcharged-on excavation work and never justified the work they performed, outside of the blasting company work that I agreed too.o There was also work that should have been completed as part of their progress payments that was not performed, electrical being one of them• NO project management, they were never on site to oversea the work, either from their works or the sub-contractors.o I was constantly outside pointed out the issues during the work, their failure to properly account for the 3 water fixtures during the gunite work and cement work.o We failed inspection for pre-gunite 3 timeso Plus many other issues, from damage to front yard irrigation (day 1) which they ignored for 3 months before being pressed to fix (still doesn’t work)• Providing NO properly trained workers to operate the backhoe/jack hammer operators for excavation work.o When we pressed them on this, EDCP stated that he should be doing more work with the jack hammer.• Communication was nonexistent, we never knew when they were coming to work or what was being worked on.• Quality of work site cleanup/maintenance is subpar, we had beer cans, cigarette butts, spray paint on trees, trash around the yard (fast food and drink cans), dirt and trash in the front yard, left for days to weeks at time.Overall, I had to terminated the contract with them and I am working new company to finish the work. Ultimately out basic pool build will take over a year now. Though having confidence in the builder to provide quality work, minimize collateral damage to the landscape, and communicate with the customer is key, something you will never have with El Dorado Custom Pools.Service: Inground pool installation

We had our pool finished a couple of months ago and we couldn't be happier. El Dorado Custom Pools has an amazing team that made our pool building experience great! They were very responsive and had great communication with our timeline. I would recommend them to anyone looking to build a pool.

Just recently had our pool finished by El Dorado Pools and we are extremely happy with the finished product. Our project was not without unexpected obstacles to overcome, but Kyle and his team were extremely responsive and helpful in overcoming the challenges that our yard threw at them. I highly recommend them to anybody looking to build a pool. They are honest and consistently kept me in the loop regarding our project.

EDCP built our pool and they were fantastic. Erik was very responsive and sincere, and remains so even several years later. He very effectively and professionally managed the sub-contracted parties that contributed to the project and left us with a beautiful pool that we've enjoyed for many years. If you're considering a pool build and want to keep your money local, definitely check into EDCP.

If I could give zero stars I would. I just have to warn anyone looking to do business with this company you need to really way the True negative reviews they have. They will come back that I'm lying like they tried to do with the BBB but I have the receipts to prove every claim I have against them. I have the text messages and Video recordings of interactions with Kyle. They are beyond unethical and will try to make up money that they say are included in the price of the pool. They will try to say if you have a retaining wall that they pay for the "Standard tile" and if you upgrade this you just pay the difference. Well what they don't tell you is they switch up how this is billed to make sure they make money off this. For instance it is industry standards to charge for Sq ft for a retaining wall, but they switch that to linear Ft to over charge you. And all they do is double the sq ft because they don't know how to measure linear ft. They have ZERO communication when they will show up to your property. They won't come for days and then show up 1 day. Projects that should be done within a couple months will take 9 months to finish. They do not pay the plaster company resulting in your property being leined. I cannot express the disappointment with going with this company and should have listened to the big builders in the area and stayed clear of them. There is a reason they were fired from building pools in certain sub divisions. They are the worse of the worse. They also over charge you for permits. They list on the contract it is $5,998. Well then they charge you the real permit price of $1,789.30. So they are charging you $5,998.00 & $1,789.30 to obtain your permits. That is $7,787.30. Jackie is making a killing at overcharging for permits. She then acts stupid when you ask her questions or she just doesn't respond because she knows she is robbing people for doing this. They are honestly an awful company. Erik the owner claims to be a local business owner while living in Idaho. He claims Kyle has 30 years experience when he is only 38. I have spoke to many people who all have the same complaints. They are a nightmare and THEY DO not stand behind there work. Erik says they do but good luck with that. We only got them to fix the flagstone because I filed a complaint with the BBB. Everything is sloppy, they don't clean up during the job, they smoke in the backyard and toss buds everywhere, there lunch bags were just tossed in the yard. We had garbage outside our fence for months and finally had to clean it up ourselves. We have mortar from the crappy flagstone all over the concrete still and holes from the wedges the company uses to hold up the stone. They didn't build our pool or spa to plan. Spa came out at 5.2' and the pool isn't 6' deep. It's supposed to be 500 sq ft and 25k gallons, it is 17,500 gallons. And they don't even know the laws changed that the fire department has to come out to inspect your Smoke/C02 detectors. I had to tell them and schedule it. They have zero follow up. I had to also schedule our final 3 weeks after the inspector called them out for some wiring issues. Erik will reply I'm lying but I have all the pictures and proof. I can go on and on about this company and if you want more information please message me. Every day I walk out to the backyard I find another issue. Oh I forgot to add the overflow drain doesn't work and we have to manually dump water from the main drain when it rained since the kid who ran it had no clue what he was doing. The concrete is turning yellow and cracked on day 2. The AC runoff needs a bucket under it because when they poured the concrete they didn't put a drain to the main drain for the condensation. Water is seeping out of the retaining wall because they didn't seal it good enough, our spillway water feature from the spa was built too big per Bill the contractor with EDCP and it just dribbles down the front of the spa. The flagstone on the retaining wall is done so sl

Erik H. didn't know how to bid a job properly and every time I got a new bill he had added more money to the original bid. He never gave me a change order so when I would get my bills that were thousands over the original contract I was blown away. His workers were not knowledgeable in electrical and took a live electrical line and wrapped it around my copper plumbing. This could have ended very badly. All of his sub- contractors asked me if I had paid him and with good reason because he wasn't paying them! I actually got a lien put on my house due to him not paying his plaster contractors even though I paid him in full.

I couldn't be happier! we LOVE our new Pool, and the color...Ah-Mazing! My Husband and I decided to do an in ground pool during Covid-19 ...as it turned out...everyone else had the same idea! Most the pool contractors I called ---went strait to voicemail with no later response. Premier, Gerimia and El Dorado Custom Pools were the only ones who returned my calls. We met with Premier at our home in September 2020, nice young Man (Informative). During our meeting the salesman recommended a meeting at "Premier's Design Center" to review options and go over pricing...but the soonest would be a month out. We were excited to see our options, so we anxiously scheduled our appointment. In the interim I spoke to Gerimia (on the phone) it seemed he wanted to sell me a Design Plan for $800 (for a simple rectangle?) -- when I declined he gave me a high number and basically shewed me away. I received call from Erik, owner of El Dorado Pools, who scheduled an on site visit. Erik was candid, he said the pool was strait forward, a simple rectangle (I knew their projects were high end and beautifully elaborate) he said he would get back to me in a couple of days. Two days later we received an email of a surprisingly reasonable bid, plan included. I felt inclined to go with EDCP at that moment, but thought we should wait for our appointment at Premiers Design Center. After waiting a long month with met at Premiers Design Center. I guess my expectations may have been a little high, the place appeared on-organized, antiquated and dirty. This time our Salesman seemed preoccupied and hurried. He took us on a quick tour of pool finish options, concrete colors and tile, then sat us down to review numbers- after the calculations they were about 5k higher than EDCP. My husband asked about a time line, stating we'd like to get stared in December, the Salesman laughed "You'd be lucky to get in by April of 2021! And Maybe completed by August"! ... no apologies, just a smirky "Supply and Demand" comment. Wow!... no doubt in our minds, BUH BYE Premier!! I called El Dorado Custom Pools on the way home-- Erik, had a folder to our house the next weekend. I must say...I did read a bad review regarding EDCP, complaining of additional charges. I reviewed all the paperwork, it was clear and concise, what they will and will not cover, explanations and expectations, all lined out. The Contract outlined a payment schedule, each payment due in phases, Permits, Excavation, Plumbing, Gunite, Decking and Plaster --coinciding with a December- March timeline. No surprises Mr. Whoever complained on Yelp, take ownership of your Crap. After signing we met with Kyle and Jackie, a husband and wife team. Kyle worked with my husband on construction details. I worked with Jackie on the minutia details. Jackie was on it, she explained each step of the process (knowing this is not something we do everyday) She texted me with each phase and what to expect. It was clockwork they were here and done within hours. No left over messes, just a job complete... a well oiled machine. BTW- I LOVE Jackie, she's so good for being so young! During construction we decided to upgrade the pools interior finish to "Pebble Plus Mediterranean Blue" and added "Davis Concrete Color". Jackie sent pictures of each of the "Pebble" colors, once we narrowed our choice, she offered a tour of the potential color (in the rain during COVID). All additional costs before hand (no surprises). I am so thankful we chose El Dorado Custom Pools!! I waited to write this until our final payment...no surprises...just a beautiful Pool that's the envy of the neighborhood. I will miss Jackie and all her littles
