“A hidden gem in El Cerrito featuring household Korean foods. I came here looking for bean paste for a soup and tried some of the kimchi others were talking about. The kimchi they make here is exceptional. It is what I think about when I'm eating lesser kimchi at Korean restaurants or other grocery stores. I will continue to buy it here. By the tub.”

“This is a great local grocery store with better produce than Safeway and much more convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful and they don't need multiple security guards and gates at the exit. They also carry great local products that are better than national brands. This is my go to for day-to-day groceries.”

“Usually have what I need, lots of parking, keeping carts wiped down. Staff is friendly. That was 7 months ago. Today, 7/27/21 I saw a man walking around the store with no mask and when I brought it to the staffs attention letting them know the current county mandate in order is to wear a mask, which I had looked up this morning, and it is posted you need a mask while in the store... I was told that is not necessary to wear a mask and any new mandates were not in order at this store. I asked for a manager but one was not called and I walked out. I will not be returning for a while and will shop elsewhere until proper safety measures are followed and the staff is informed of what they should have been enforcing already, and enforcing it. The so called security guard at the door should have not let this person enter to begin with, and my concerns should not have been so quickly blown off.June 2022 Yes, I've gone back.. The place has done some remodeling and besides that.. no changes. I haven't needed to speak to the staff other than at check out, which has been fine, so no real update.”

“I was skeptical about coming to this store because of the bad reviews. But this store was the only Safeway near the el Cerrito Bart station, so I had no choice. I came here for something to eat for lunch because I had a gift card. I walked in and seen one security card at the door and I expected him to say something about my backpack I was wearing because of the reviews but he didn't give me a hard time. I wanted a sandwich so I walked to the sandwich making station but a lady said they were closed, so I had to pick a pre made sandwich. I then went to get some chips, I couldn't find any small bags of chips so I asked this lady putting boxes away but she said she didn't work here. Which pissed me off just a little because she was obviously lying. But I eventually found the chips I wanted. I headed to check out but none of the lines were open, just the self checkout, which I had no problem with. Ambiance wise: The self checkout is kind of hidden because there are rows of snacks and drinks surrounding the area. Overall It's not that bad, it's just the employees come off as having an attitude like they don't want to be there.”
