On Nov 25 2023 we brought our dog to get his rabies shot here. Prior to this he had been checked out and we were told he was healthy and everything was fine. He was only a year and two months old, still a baby!!! We decided on bringing him here to get his shots since it was highly recommended. We assumed we could trust this place, the amount of dogs they see on a daily basis would make any pet parent feel at ease. Less than an hour after receiving his shots we took him home. A few minutes after getting home, our dog passed! Pretty sure the woman who gave him his shots gave him a bad dose. Our dog was a huge part of the family, he was just a baby. It's so unfair this happened to us and we are still having a difficult time with this, we will forever be traumatized with this experience. Please save do not bring your fur babies here.

We adopted two sister hamsters here with the help of a very friendly staff member who we believe to be the manager of the reptile or fish section? I don't know...but he was super sweet! He offered to reserve them for us, showed us pics of his own pets which was super cool, and was extremely friendly!!!! Shout out to him! And when we came back he even asked how they're doing! They're now housed in a giant 60 gal terrarium with bedding and a big silent spinner hamster wheel. They even have a custom home and 10 inches of bedding for burrowing which they love. They never ever run around the cage or anything and they never fight because they have plenty of space and were already bonded. They'll be loving a very happy and healthy life. Thanks Petco and thank you Petco manager!

Employees are condescending, with vital care services asked about my rewards and he looked back like what am I supposed to know (when they can be looked up in their system) then multiple accounts popped up and instead of providing guidance on how to fix that he used it as an excuse to not want to add my $15 dollars in rewards

Due to my busy schedule and no one answering the phones, I booked a grooming appointment online. I understand that they might the busy grooming a dog, so it was easier that way. I received a confirmation and went on about my week. Grooming day finally came, loaded up my dog, and arrived at the location only to be met with bad news. The grooming section looked closed, so we stood around for a few minutes before a groomer came out. They advised that we in fact did not have a reservation and maybe we booked it with pet smart or a different petco. I tried telling her that it was this petco, because it wouldn't make sense to go outside of the city when I live in Downey. She sat there clueless as we went back and forth, so I told her I had the confirmation but although we're not in the system, can she just take my dog as a walk in or schedule her in- since there were no dogs at the place anyway.... She said no, and recommended I call around to other grooming places to see if I might have booked with them. AGAIN. I literally had the confirmation. It would've been as easy as "sorry the system didn't show you, I'd be happy to take her in now since there are no dogs at the facility now" This literally pushed my entire schedule back and it was super frustrating. Thankfully, the petco in Bellflower was very accommodating and even though they had other appointments- they were willing to take her in within 30 minutes. So I guess I will just start driving the extra distance to a different location from now on, because I definitely wouldn't feel confident entrusting my dog to the responsibility of this groomer.

almost impossible to find an employee that will help you there will be a 20 person line and one person working the register every time and I'll be taking their sweet sweet time knowing that everyone is painfully waiting. I bought a beta fish here died a week later I don't know it's always really ransacked. Also, never have anything you need to fish food is almost nonexistent.... But they have my dogs, nutritious, healthy freezer food... lol

Save yourself the trouble and either drive to the Cerritos one or go somewhere else. The disparity in how many people are there to help you is crazy. Takes at least 15 min to get through the line with only one person on the register. The vet clinic is also a mess. I know it’s mobile, but dang, it takes forever and my dog is already excited/upset to be here. Wish they would just make appointments farther apart if they can’t hurry.

I went in wanting to check out their variety of dry cat food. What I found was multiple aisles of dog food vs a small section of cat food. Very disappointing.I found a better selection across the street at Ralph's.
