So sad I drive 40 minutes and they're closed likely for good . If not Whole Foods needs to set the proper signage

Best dosas! Generous fillings and crispy! I heard they're closing and I hope they keep it open.

I have been visiting the Dosateria at Whole Foods Market in Cupertino weekly for the past several years. My go-to favorite menu item is the potato masala dosa. My mom, who is an excellent cook herself & a very picky eater, raves about the chicken dosa. We are especially crazy about the spectacular yet affordable dosas prepared from scratch & served up by Lorena whose smile seems to light up the entire Dosateria corner where most of the menu items, to my knowledge, are prepared daily from scratch. Lorena is a force of nature. I have never seen her pause for a moment. She is clearly passionate about her work, & is either cooking with gusto or cleaning fiercely or greeting a passing co-worker with genuine warmth or brightening the day of a customer (such as myself!) with an engaging conversation. Lorena & her staff's warmth combined with the speedy, delicious, & freshly prepared food make for an extraordinarily cozy & familial ambience I have not experienced anywhere else in the Bay Area. My hypersensitive gut makes it very difficult for me to enjoy eating out. But Lorena's dosas seem to be an exception. Hence even though I rarely post a review about anything, I feel compelled to make an exception & write a review as an expression of my deepest gratitude for the modest yet extraordinary Dosateria corner at Whole Foods. For me, it has become so much more than a casual eatery. It is by far my favorite feature of Cupertino Whole Foods, & feels every bit as safe, comfortable, clean, tidy, cheerful, welcoming, uplifting, gracious, & delicious as my beloved mom's eat-in kitchen. If you have not tasted one of Lorena's dosas yet, I hope you will give it a shot. You will not be disappointed!

I love this place. I have not had a better dosa in the Bay Area. I moved out of the area but every time I'm in the South Bay I still stop in for lunch. Both vegetarian dosa's are delicious. I highly recommend either of them (or Half and half!). The staff is lovely and service is quick!

I didn't know what's Dosa and thought to give it a try. The conclusion? It a burrito with Indian spices. I wouldn't ditch this, but also don't think it's worth the fuss.

Great food and good service. We go here a lot to have their Paneer dosa which is one of the best I’ve had. Also like the butter chicken dosa and lemon rice with saag paneer. They also make good sugar cane juice which is a little overpriced but tastes authentic with the right balance of ginger and lime. They have a small seating area as well so you can enjoy the dosas hot.

The food here is decent and the place is clean. It's mostly varieties of dosa and they have nice sugarcane juice. However what bothers me each time I go here is the very rude lady at counter who also prepares the food/drink. She flat out refused to take order of sugarcane juice at 3:30 pm when they are open until 4:30 saying she is already done for the day with the juices. We went all the way to that location just for the sugarcane juice. We had a negative experience a different time as well. She never smiles and has a scornful face throughout the process. I feel like any place that deals with customers should know the meaning of customer service. This woman at the counter is absolutely unfit for the role. This ruins the experience for us each time.

Pleasantly surprised to find fresh dosas inside whole foods. Pretty decent doasas, Frankies and fried idlis (something hard to find at even indian restaurants)

Thought we'd try this dosa place. Had the masala dosa. Super disappointed. Had 2 Dosas and asked for masala on the side on one of them - came out with it on the inside. Masala was bland; Sambar was so so and on the salty side. Seemed to be from a large batch just reheated. Coconut chutney was green so probably with cilantro. Sat outside where you had to clean your own tables. The most annoying thing is the patio doors can only be opened from the inside (2:30pm), so if you forgot something you have to go all the way around from the store entrance side. So make sure you get your drinks or water when you get your food to save yourself a trip.

Excellent selection and to-go options. Their wraps and dosa's are all well-made. The only issue preventing my family and myself eating them regularly is the saltiness. As an example, I asked someone working their counter on Saturday about the Bombay street wrap being vegetarian or not (label was way too hard to read) and if it's salty. She said it's vegetarian and "not salty at all." After coming home and trying them, we all had to throw it away because even when I tried having it with yogurt, the saltiness was still overwhelming (even for someone who tends to like saltier food). It's a shame because the contents of that wrap are just excellent and could be so much tastier if they dialed down the salt.

I love this place for its sugarcane juice. I've never tried anything else at Dosateria - but I can vouch for the sugarcane juice. It's fresh, tasty and it's something you don't really get everywhere in the Bay Area. I've seen it being sold outside some Indian stores but that's not all year round. They add ginger and lemon to the juice - but if you do not want those ingredients in it, just tell them not to add those two things. Do remember that Dosateria closes a little sooner than the Whole Foods market that it is in. So check the timings on Yelp before you go there. Also, they do often run out of sugarcane juice. So call the Whole Foods store, ask them to connect you to Dosateria and ask them if they have enough sugarcane left and clearly tell them how many glasses you want. I've been in situations where I've wanted 5 or 6 glasses but they only have enough sugarcane for 1 or 2. So call ahead and ask how many glasses they can give you before you leave the house - especially if you're making the trip just for the sugarcane juice.

Opens at 10am, located inside whole foods. They have some grab and go options in the frozen/refrigerated section as well as by their counter. These include wraps, rice bowls, samosas, juices. Had freshly squeezed sugarcane ginger lime juice, butter chicken dosa w spinach and potato masala dosa. All really fresh, the sambar side dish was piping hot. Super quick service even on Christmas day!

Tried Masala Dosa here. Although fresh, neither dosa nor sambhar or chutney tastes good. Potato masala has less or no salt. Would not recommend.
