I was treated so badly here. The employees are rude, did not communicate important information and then charged me for an upgrade after giving away the car I reserved. When I returned the car, the person who was ride to me at pickup went outside alone to inspect my car (which was fine when I pulled up) and came back and said there was a crack- she probably did it herself. I am sure that will be a hassle to deal with. When I asked to please discuss the extra charge with the manager, he immediately refused to hear me, told me to stop interrupting him, I told him he was talking down to me and he yelled at me “GET OUT OF MY STORE YOU CHILD!” I am 40 years old. I was shocked. I left shaking and crying. I feel so extremely mistreated by this location. Avoid at all costs. If they respond to this review- do not believe them. They are awful people.

I had a wonderful experience here. The two people at the front desk were both fast and efficient for both pick up and drop off. I highly recommend this Hertz branch, I'll be back for my next weekly rental! ?Marss and Taylor are amazing. Their customer service and professionalism is A++.

I have never in my life seen a company so unorganized. Must have credit deposit $200, debit card deposit $500. Take an Uber to pick up rental car my card is a temp with no chip because I'm waiting on a replacement, then I'm told I can't swipe the card, or manually input in computer, nor Pay online, not to mention you have to go through a 30 day approval process just to pay in cash! Are you kidding me? This is unbelievable! So i went got another card, Paid the billl and the credit card company tell that the cash payment I just paid will show until Monday. $600! And still no rental car!!!

5 star for Marss1 star for VictoriaEverything was really simple, from checking in at the Hertz counter before picking up my rental through returning it. Also, the agent Marss at the Hertz counter was quite helpful in directing me, properly training me for Tesla, and obtaining a dependable vehicle when Tesla was not available. He gave me peace of mind. I appreciated his time and knowledge. It was quite beneficial.Now, Victoria, on the other hand, needs to speak at a low volume over the phone; she speaks so loudly that her voice echo lol, which could be because she is merely warning people not to mess with her. I don't know that was just an assumption but she really scares me.She is not at all courteous, and I believe she should take advice from her seniors, such as Marss. Anyway, I give Marss 5 star for his outstanding customer service, picking out great cars, and great location in Costa Mesa. I wish I lived nearby because I would rent cars from them all the time.

The worst location and rude employees with manager.1) 1st time they gave me extremely bad and uncleaned car so I asked them to replace it right away and they asked me to wait more than 30 mins.2) I had issue with my billing so they tried to call them and they never answered the call so i visited location where I met the MANAGER and he was extremely rude telling me i should do it via customer care people who already informed me that I have to got to the location. Then manager added I should check everything online as I cannot help and then after 10 mins of argument, he told me to come back after they receive entire bill after 10 days.3) They never gave me universal charging adapter(which tesla provides to every car) so that incase if i want to use it to tesla slow universal charging station or any other chargers i can use it via adapter.So I called them and they said they do not have it and cannot provide it.I asked them either i would return the car or give me an adapter so that i do not get stuck but the lady was extremely rude.I told her that i would write a yelp review about this bad service and experience and she replied "FABULOUS ".Non of the employee at that location cares about customers.All the care about is their pay check.I wonder if there is area manager who even checks this bad service.

I recently rented a 2022 Ford Escape from this location and am quite dissappointed at sales practices that I would say are at the very least, misleading but in reality , are very deceptive and reeking of a bait and switch scheme. I rented this car and was convinced by staff to agree to the fuel purchase option, FPO. I was assured that the price was lower than existing pump price and that I would ony be charged for the gas I used. I drove a total of 65 local miles.When I got the final bill, I noticed the FPO charge was over $30 to drive 65 miles in a small Ford SUV, whose own website states this car gets up to 28 MPG in the city. And with gas hovering around $6.00 per gallon, this charge should have been at most $18.00. And when I tried exlaining this to staff, seems like no one can adequately explain this discrepancy. So, rather than dicker over this deception, I chose to write it off as "never again."Word to the wise: NEVER agree to the fuel purchase option and ask all the questions you might have when signing these agreements. Very shady.

Great service, prompt and friendly staff. The manager gave me an upgraded SUV, had a full tank of gas plus he took it through the car wash. I wanted to give a 4.5 star rating only because the inside of the car could've been cleaner. Seats were stained in spots and there was some trash left in it from previous renter. A thorough cleaning and inspection might have detected the empty plastic cup under the drivers seat. But I really enjoyed driving the car. Thank you hertz.

My recent encounter with Hertz rental left me utterly frustrated and dissatisfied. The complete lack of customer service from all their employees was astonishing, to say the least. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that their attitude towards customers was abysmal. It's truly disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior within a company that should prioritize customer satisfaction. My experience with Hertz was nothing short of disappointing, and I would strongly advise against choosing them for your rental needs.During my interaction with Hertz, I witnessed a glaring inconsistency in their customer service approach. While a female representative allowed another female customer to use the bathroom, but a guy Customer was met with a refusal when asked for the same privilege. This kind of discriminatory treatment is both baffling and disappointing, reflecting poorly on the company's commitment to equal and fair treatment for all customers. Such blatant disregard for consistency and fairness further emphasizes the subpar experience I had with Hertz.

Got a rental that has a bulge in tire engine light on and stalls or won't start i tried to call several time to be hung up on or put on hold at the Costa Mesa, Ca hub, this place is really bad and should be reviewed by company

Horrible business. Horrible customer service. I made a reservation and came in just to be told "yeah no car available today." Excuse me? Why was I able to make a reservation if you dont even have a car available??? Wasted my time and money to come in for nothing. The worker didn't even bother to apologize for their fuck up. Don't ever rent here.

Very unhappy with their business. First off they only have electric vehicles . At least that was what I was told . This was the worst experience I have ever had . The agent told me , oh yeah. It only takes 25 minutes for a full charge. Well that doesn't exist . I even told him we were traveling to Arizona. The charger I found there, was at a casino. It sat in the charger for 12 HOURS ! And didn't get a full charge. We were stranded . Most hotels that offer chargers, are for guest only. DO NOT RENT A EV FOR TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF A MAJOR CITY ! And I asked about the accident coverage , that said $10 a day on my email. He told me depends on the car. Then he proceeded to charge me $30 a day. I have insurance that would have covered . This whole experience has ruined my trip & been a nightmare . I am so unhappy with this .

We rented an EV car at the Costa Mesa location on Harbor for a week and on the second day it wouldn't charge and we tried at more than one location. We called the road side and they said they couldn't help and that we had to take it to another charging station which we couldn't because we had to go to work. We both took Uber. Then the next day we brought it and they exchanged but still charged for the day we couldn't use it. Terrible, rude customer service! Do Not recommend.
