What is going on with container store? The store used to be the paragon of retail. Now when you visit the store the shelves are half empty, and there are boxes and handtrucks everywhere. I’ve called the closet design line 3 times in the last week to try to design the closet and still haven’t gotten a call back. I went into the store to wait for a design expert but finally gave up after 30 minutes. I wonder if they on the verge of going out of business? They sure seem to be operating that way.

Order was missing at pickup. Someone had to repick all the items for a closet which took a little bit. When getting home, we found the rods and top tracks were not cut to proper length. Store says they properly fulfilled order properly, but the system was messed up, not taking any responsibility. “They’ll be happy to cut if I bring my items back to the store” ?♂️
Also a very rude cashier who butted in when I was working with a store associate to match the pick list with items given, asking us to move somewhere else/hurry up

We have reviewed shelving systems and come to realize the best value and most practical solution is the elfa system offered by The Container Store. We worked with Matt Habecker at the Corte Madera location to customize two closets. We were very impressed by his command of their design center software as he designed a very functional solution for an odd sized space. This process took almost three hours over two trips … and the entire time his focus was our satisfaction. Thank you Matt!

Firstly, I'd like to say Sunni, one of the managers I spoke with is cool. She was helpful and prompt.Backstory is my wife and I are looking to update our closet. Sunni helped us figure out the design and materials.Today I go in to start buying the parts. I called in advanced to see what was needed. Spoke to someone named Gregory. I go into the store, waited to talk with someone, she wasn't that helpful (didnt get her name either), and she said she would go look for him and proceeds to disappear. Then 30 minutes later another sales associate (also dont know the name) asks if I needed help, said I was looking for Gregory, only to find out he was "busy". Someone, who I am guessing was someone else from the same department, said he would help me after he finishes up with current client, also then disappears. When I see him next, he was helping another client, finishes up with them, and goes help the check out line.Here I am, waiting over an hour, and forgotten about by 4 different people while ready to buy stuff. Not a happy camper, and I dont want to go back

Crafting the perfect closet layout is now an obsession, thanks to their innovative solutions. It's like creating a personalized, tidy kingdom for your clothes.Now, let's talk travel and kitchen gadgets. My wanderlust heart leaps with joy at their selection of travel organizers. And oh, the kitchen gadgets! You'd think I've entered gadget heaven. If you've ever dreamed of having an organized, efficient kitchen, this is the place to be.What surprised me most was how pet-friendly they are. The sight of a section dedicated to pet organization made my heart melt. Fido and Fluffy will be ecstatic!One little quirk though - there's a constant, rhythmic banging from the ceiling due to a gym above. It's almost like they're trying to tell us something, maybe that we should get in shape after all that organization!In conclusion, if you're a fellow aficionado of the organized life, the Container Store in Corte Madera is your nirvana. I worked with Sunni, the custom spaces sales manager. When I arrived she told me they were short staffed and we may experience a disruption or two during our appointment. Sunni skillfully handled my design requests and asked for twenty minutes to implement and draw out what we had discussed and what I had shown her. She knocked it out of the park! I got two full closets designed to my liking, with thoughtful add-ons by Sunni and I was out of there in under an hour. Taking delivery in a little over two weeks and installation a week or so later. I've worked with several custom closet companies over the year and they have a 4-8 month turnaround for a custom build. The Elfa systems are not as intricate but for the cost (and I saved 35% because of the promotion) I would take it everyday!

As an organizer I have been shopping there from day one, I call it my hardware store. The Corte Madera staff are awesome, always helpful and ready to turn a mistake right especially Sunni, Vicky, Sheila and more!Make sure to double check when picking up your Elfa system that it is all there.We are fortunate to have this store in our area!

Ordered five custom Elfa systems for the closets in my newly remodeled house and just had everything installed. PERFECTION. I'm so happy with the organized space! Special thanks to the designers, Alex and Sunny, who helped me design the perfect closets for my spaces and were wonderful to work with too!

The container store in Marin, seems to be out of what i need when i go there. The one in San Jose,on Santana Row, seems better stocked. All in all it seems like an okay store but the concept to me is that people have too much stuff and should donate it to the less fortunate instead of trying to figure out how to organize everything so that it will fit in there house. It can cause mold issues when you have too much stuff also. So as you can see this is not my go to store for everything.
