SCAM ALERT!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I spoke to this location on August 16th of this year as I was looking for someone who would rebuild a transmission. The representative (Wesley) who I believe is the owner let me know that the $5,800.00 I was quoted for a new transmission was a "rip off" (his words) and he would be able to rebuild it for much less. After charging me $150.00 for an initial inspection he said he needed an additional $395.00 to look at the situation closer. After that inspection he said there was definitely something wrong with it (which I thought was already understood as I told him Ford was telling me I needed to replace it) and needed an additional $1,650.00 to remove the transmission and inspect it further. Seemed like a scam but I agreed so that is on me. I was into this for $2,000 just in inspections so I had to go with him for the rebuild. These sales tactics aren't transparent and should be reviewed by the BBB and California Auto Repair Commission but that wasn't the problem or reason for this review. On September 18th, I went down to pick up my son's vehicle and after paying $5,200 for the rebuild had him drive it back to college. I received a frantic call from my son about 2 hours later letting me know that he was almost in an accident. The mechanic at this location forgot to fasten the drive shaft (Pictures Below) when they reinstalled my transmission and the two piece drive shaft on my son's Ford F-150 came apart when he was driving at a speed of about 45 mph. He was able to swerve off the road and avoid the other cars but that was the start of this nightmare. The owner took complete responsibility for the incident and started screaming that he was going to fire the person who did this. He agreed to have the vehicle towed back to his location and repair any damage that took place as a result of their negligence. I was promised I would have the vehicle back on Friday the 22nd. That failed to happen because the owner said they sent him the wrong parts. He then told me I would have it on Tuesday the 26th. Tuesday came and went and despite me leaving messages I did not hear back. On Wednesday the 27th, I received a call that the new drive shaft was installed but they didn't have time to test drive it so I would have it the next day. I received a call from the owner the following day that the car didn't pass quality assurance test because the same supplier sent him a defective drive shaft. On Monday the 2nd of October, I was called and told the truck was ready. As I drove off I began to hear a noise and 10 minutes into the drive the CHECK ENGINE light came on. You can't make this up. I am now in another rental and my vehicle is at a mechanic shop I can trust. My insurance company is involved and will be going after this location on my behalf. To make matters worse, AAMCO's corporate office has been horrible to deal with and since this is a franchise they said I am on my own to work it out with the owner. If you bring your car here you are a FOOL.

So let me first say I’m not a car tech saavy guy so please understand when I say I didn’t know I didn’t know.A month ago I take my car ( a Lexus ) to Lexus dealer to have my car looked at due to possible transmission issues. As told by themI needed to have it replaced for the price of $7500. As they told me this I looked to my right and I noticed anAAMCO across the street. So I got in the car and quickly went across the street( quickly meaning 10mph for obvious reason lol)I was quickly greeted with a smile from the nice lady at the front desk. She was very nice and had nothing but great things to say about the team. I left the car there and they gave me two options a rebuild or a Remanufactured one both, are cheaper prices than Lexus. We discusssed a rebuild but they needed to confirm the damage before they can make their recommendation. We causally talked about it being 230 in price to inspect and will apply it to either option I choose as there were small differences in prices. Keep in mind both prices were respectable and reasonable. Also remember I stated earlier I don’t know what it takes to break down and build a transmissionAfter a week I decided let’s just take it back to Lexus and called the AAMCO team I changd my mind. They asked me 2-3 times if I’m sure and my idiot self said yes. They obliged and put it back together. After a week when I arrived to pay the 230 It was actually $2300. You should have seen my face . I looked like I had muppets eyes. So as I share my thoughts with them ( not being a ken or Karen ) both party calmly exchanged our points of view. I was willing to pay for my stupidity but they also understood my situation and conceded that they wanted my business AND WAIVED THE $2300 of labor and work and kept the price as planned. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS … REALLY WHO!!! If I wanted to do the work with them they wouldn’t add 1 penny to the time and labor they loss over my ignorance! I’m happy and proudly paying them for the quote and I’m feeling guilty on how empathetic they were to me. In these tough times with rising costs, I cannot believe there are still business’s out here doing honorable, and respectable work with awesome customer service with a smile . If you are seeking a repair or seeking a good honest technician. This is the spot!!!!! If I can give 10 stars I would.Btw I flew home a day earlier to pay them and headed to get my car as I write this.SincerelyHappy customer

Last month the transmission on my 2014 Infiniti went out. I took it to the dealership and to some other shops. AAMCO made me feel at ease. They tried to look into a rebuild but the damage was to extensive. So they quoted me a very competitive price and I had them replace with a brand new transmission. They did a great job! Followed up and let me bring it in 2 weeks after to make sure everything was working correctly. Then this week I noticed a plastic weather shield under the front of the car was coming undone. I contacted AAMCO again and the owner told me to bring it in and he would clip it all back into place. I was expecting to be charged but it was on the house since they were the last ones to be under the hood. I had a great experience and I definitely recommend them if you're having transmission issues.

This place is a rip off DO NOT GO THERE.. Tom is the worst sales person I have ever dealt with very rude and Wesley all he does is hide and take peoples money.. we took our truck in to get it fixed 3 different times and it never got fixed 2900.00 later they wanted more money from us and the truck was still broke down and not running. They charged us 1800.00 for a 14.95 part that they broke putting it in the truck, they charged us for a steering column that was never brought up when talking about what could be wrong we were told it was a recalled part that needed to be replaced again at our cost because the manufacturer will only replace it once. That has nothing to do with the steering column.. After months of investigation they finally gave back our money with the help of the Bureau of automotive repairs help.. if you feel you have been ripped off by this business call Bureau of automotive repair. I can't imagine how many other people this place has ripped off.. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE TO GET YOUR REPAIRED.. my rating is no stars but I had to put one star so I can post

If there was a score worse than "not Good" Id pick it. It was a total scam. charging for new parts when they hadnt even been replaced. outrageous prices for parts . Had to take car back two times only to have the same problem {transmission} took it elsewhere where we were told and showed the clear scam we recieved. from Aamco. turned it in to better business assoc and we were refunded our money as they knew we were going to sue as we had paid them over $2500 for nothing..............beware people...do not use Aamco honesty and total care is not practiced here and above all they were rude with every call I made to them....other reviews seem to be the same story and 1 star

Took my truck to AAmco in Concord,ca., for a transmission evaluation. After the truck was with them for more than 1 day they call to discuss my transmission. I was then told that there were metal shavings in the pan, the valve body was leaking and there were pieces of friction plate and brass in the pan as well. I asked for them to put it back together, and was told that the charge was $360 at this point, meaning there would be more charges by the time they were finished ( the written estimate was for $120.00). They also asked me If I would be interested in selling the truck. They wanted $7300.00 for a rebuilt transmission, + $1400.00 for removal of the old transmission and installation of the new one, for a total of $8700.00. They also offered to rebuild the existing transmission in their shop. They couldn't tell me what their shop rebuild would cost, only it would be less expensive then a factory rebuild. I am still driving this vehicle and I will update this review once the transmission is repaired/replaced.update: AAMCO prices are in line with market pricing. Labor rates are inflated as everything is at this time. I didn't like being asked to pay nearly 3x+ more than what was agree upon in their work order. It's aggravating that repair cost have doubled in just a few short years.

Will not bring another car here again!I recently brought my car into this shop and upon dropping off the vehicle I was met by a woman who seemed nice enough although a little scatter brained and unorganized. She took my keys and had me fill out some paperwork while she looked at my car, I noticed she wrote down my license plate wrong and I corrected her and she told me she was positive she had it right. (I'm pretty sure I know my own license plate). After that we didn't hear anything for 3 days which I thought was normal but after the 4th day I started to call on my own to get an update and who I'm assuming is the manager, Tom told me he was having trouble with the diagnosis. He said there was a noise but other than that had no idea what I was talking about? So I told him ok maybe I was wrong and if he's found another issue that could most likely be it. 3 more days went by with nothing. After this I started having to call every few days and was met with little to no updates and rapidly declining customer service. Eventually when we got to the insurance stage I called my insurance to ask if the claim had gone through and they said they'd been waiting 4 days to receive pictures and a quote I called aamco and they told me I'd need to request an inspector (which takes 3 extra days to get) because they don't take pictures I agreed reluctantly because I obviously needed my car back. And again after 2 weeks of calling and going back and forth between rudeness from aamco and my insurance I thankfully got my car back and am certain I WONT BE RETURNING not only did it feel like they held my car hostage for the month they had it, they had no customer service skills, no updates or any information for me about my cars issues when I called, etc. i went a month with no car, no way to get my children to school, no way to get to work or run errands and this isn't my first time with a repair shop I've never had anything take more than a week TOPS. All around miserable experience

They quoted 48 hours for a diagnostic response, we called and didn't get a response. waited about 56 hours then went down there for an update and they said the diagnostics guys had called out so it will be another day. We asked for the keys back and will never return. Unprofessional service and the workers do not communicate. It is worth the money to take to an actual mechanic. (They also released my vehicle to another family member without contacting me first & never asked for an ID of my family member)

Wesley the service tech was informative despite not being able to recreate the issues with my vehicle, he told me what to watch for going forward. The fees charged for diagnostics is good for 30 days in the event my vehicle does what the tech thinks it will do! Be patient, they are short handed and dealing with supply chain issues but I was told up front! Much appreciated!Service: Transmission
