They keep sending me letters to join their union and I didn't have time until now to join.. they open at 9 am Monday-Friday and I called them at 9 am today but nobody picked up.

Regrettably I didn't leave my job sooner! I have always had an issue with this union regarding dental! Their trust fund is the WORSE and GREEDY. It would literally take months and months for them to approve dental work! Why did you deduct from my pay if you dont care?? Happened more than once. They semi approved work but they wouldnty approve for another bridge so now my mouth is all f***** up! Why did I pay you??I once ended a relationship with a wonderful dental doctor because I lost trust in them and the union! It was a He said She said type of thing. The union lied and said they contacted the dental office. The dental office said they never received anything from the trust fund making it seem like liars as well. Also BEWARE this union has political agendas! They support the democrat party which I don't mind at all. But they should keep politics out because not everyone believes what you DO politically! They should keep politics OUT OF BUSINESS! So annoying!! Glad i am no longer union!

I regret staying in my store knowing it will turn union. This particular place came and said all the right things and everyone signed to join. My representative takes 2 months to reply if we have any issues and states he never received messages. The worst!!!! I love my job but because of this union invasion i am highly considering leaving. They only take our dues and don't care to help.

UFCW Local 1428 continued to charge me union dues even after I had moved out of the area and affiliated with a different local. They also charged me dues for the weeks I was not working in order to move. I am a student and do not work full time hours so the Local 1428 union dues took 15% of my paychecks (a much larger portion than Uncle Sam). The staff was very rude and unprofessional when I called them to stop taking dues from my paychecks after I had moved.
