“I’ve been a loyal member at Orange Theory Fitness Eastlake for several years now. The combination of a supportive staff, engaging workouts, and a strong sense of community truly stands out. It’s evident that group fitness, especially High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), is not only popular but backed by extensive research for its effectiveness in fitness. The unique color-coded exertion levels—green, orange, and red—allow for a personalized workout experience, catering to one’s pace and intensity. The dedication of the front desk staff and coaches in providing support is remarkable, further enhancing the inclusive community vibe that’s rare in other fitness studios or gyms. While there are many positives, like community, staff and effectiveness of workout ; there are also areas for improvement. The franchise model under a central governing body sometimes limits the incorporation of member feedback into the workout protocols.Specific points of concern include:1. Expanding the 2G Class Format: Previously, coaches could adjust to accommodate more than 34 members based on demand, but this flexibility has been restricted, leading to waitlists and limited access during peak hours. This is compounded by New years resolutions and OTF transformaiton challenge (members pays $35 for weight and body compostion analysis during an week period. During the Transformation challenge members are expected to attend 3 classes a week.2. Equipment Maintenance: With only one regional maintenance person, the upkeep of equipment like rowers and treadmills suffers, affecting usability. Even basics like ensuring cool water from the water machine, which has been dispensing warm water for months, are overlooked.3. Studio Cleanliness: Despite the staff’s efforts, the cleaning schedule does not keep up with high usage, and a professional cleaning service could improve the situation to perform regular deep cleaning.4. Member Feedback and Service: Although feedback is collected, it often seems neglected, with little action taken on issues raised by members. A more proactive approach and an additional forum for the leadership team to address and respond to member concerns would be beneficial. Members want to be heard and their concerned acknowledged and addresed.Orange Theory Fitness Eastlake is more than just a gym—it’s a community where staff and members alike invest their hearts and souls, creating a familial atmosphere. Like any organization, there are challenges, especially in maintaining a close connection with the community from a distance. As the southernmost studio, addressing these issues could elevate our experience to one of the premier fitness offerings in the Southbay.”

“This review is specifically about the GYM.The gym is good. It is not very big compared to other gyms but the size is fair. It doesn't have all the machines but it has most of them and what it doesn't have one can do it in other ways anyways. It is good. I've been coming here for two years and it has been a pleasant experience. Staff is nice.Usually when machines get broken they tend to be fixed in around a time of two weeks or so.Lockers are big, you need to bring your own lock ofc. There is just two bench press, three sets of two cables and for the other machines are one or two of the same as well.Usually there is a lot of people at 12 - 3pm I believe.”

“Very clean gym and great equipment! Staff is kind and helpful as well! It can definitely get really crowded at times but overall a decent gym! You just have to figure out what times aren’t very crowded.”

“The Gym is located in downtown Chula Vista and has all the machines and equipments to cater to your type of training from free weights, squat racks, machines, treadmills, stair masters, air assault and recumbent bikes, and a section for functional training.Parking will be a challenge during busy times and the gym does get packed.A few suggestions to management: instill the common gym etiquette to members of allowing members to work in and share a station during busy times. Some members aren’t aware of this common courtesy. It should let members come in, work out, then go about their day instead of waiting around ruining the experience and workout schedule.”

“One of the cleanest gyms I've been to, probably the best LA Fitness South of San Diego. Wish they had more squat racks and bench presses as I find myself waiting up to 40min depending on how busy it is. Sauna works great, if equipment breaks down it's usually fixed within 1 week. Highly recommend!”

“I am absolutely new to yoga. I mean o tried it here and there but never consistent . I came here for a trial run and let me tell you , the instructors are so caring and patient and just awesome . I experienced 3 different instructors and they each bring a different flavor to the practice and I love how they change it up. I am going to acquire a membership and I suggest that you also try this great spot. So healing and beautiful ....”

“I have to start of with a shoutout to Melissa, one of the morning class coaches. She is the sweetest, most kind, patient, intelligent, welcoming and hilarious people I've ever met. If you're a beginner, start off in the mornings because Melissa will give you the support to build confidence in your own body! The owner, Rick, is very experienced and takes your workout time seriously. His genuine goal is to make sure everyone can reach their goals and become stronger. He creates ample opportunity for athletes to learn new things, and frequently coordinates supplemental classes to perfect your lifting technique, or better your mobility with some yoga at no extra cost to the athletes. There is a lovely sense of community amongst the athletes at this box. There are always social gatherings, they celebrate birthdays a few minutes before class, and people are always encouraging each other when someone is finishing their last few reps of a WOD or reaching for a PR.I encourage you to push yourself physically and mentally, starting with CrossFit Chula Vista. Welcome to your new home!”

“My girlfriend introduced me to working out and this gym. I tried it out with the three day trial, keep in mind I had hardly ever worked out before, the coaches are all so nice and really helped out with my form. They had a three month membership special so I said f*** it and I do not regret it. I feel so much better about myself, and my girl said I have back muscles now, she showed me a picture and I was like damnnnn that's me?!? Now it's my girl, and our two friend that are members at this gym. Five stars is the least they deserve.”

“After experience the worst customer service through the phone line. I went to the gym in person. The owner of the gym had very different attitude. He was polite and took care of the balance. I'm still waiting for the dispute, but I am satisfied with his service. The owner told me the customer on the phone is beyond his management.”

“Just like any other gym, big facility, lots of equipment. Good thing I came early around 0600 because it started to get packed by 0700. I know everyone writes bad reviews. But I do have a lot of good thing to say, especially about Norma. She an employee, was very nice, professional and really helpful with all my questions and issues. This is why I rate it 5 stars because of Norma’s excellent customer service. Thanks.”
