“First time here since it switched from OSH. Needed fittings for a plumbing project that was installed wrong. Had no idea what I was looking for or how to properly describe it. One of the workers there younger guy with black hair and facial hair helped us out immensely. I had to come back a second time and told him the problem and after a few minutes he found the right combination of parts that solved our problem! Wish I caught his name to put in this review but he knew his stuff and made sure he worked with us until we got it solved. Definitely the kind of knowledgeable employee that a hardware store requires for good customer service!”

“I just love this old school small town hardware store in downtown Chico. Walking into collier is a bit like stepping back in time. I like to buy my Lassen National Forest Christmas tree permit here and then drive up into the mountains to grab my own slice of the holidays. Highly recommend a stop at colliers if you are walking around town!”

“I used to dislike harbor freight so much until now how I realize they are the cheapest tools around town with mostly lifetime warranty now, they have a bunch of weird crazy custom tools that I want to make sometime and their tools are actually getting a lot better. Plenty of parking but always packed, the parking lot doesn't look too safe cause there always homeless walking around and always busy area. I don't really care for customers service only for their business. One time I did over heard another worker cussing out another Co worker on their walkie talkies on the floor full of customers.”

Gene came up and gave us a very good price for additional installation in the attic up to R49 due to the extreme weather we get up here. The crew showed up with the equipment when they said they would and did a very professional job. They made sure all the trouble spots were filled in with just the right amount of insulation. And took care to protect the inside of the home during the process. Great job Gene and the team.”

“Lowe's is different from Home Depot, in two obvious ways: 1. Lowe's is brighter--it's well lit while Home Depot is darker. 2. Lowe's seems to have its merchandise organized better, more like a store. Home Depot is a warehouse. But I get that Lowe's has a different model in that they're trying to cater to the DIYer of which many are women. Home Depot tries to get construction workers' business. Of course both try to woo both the construction folks and the DIYers. Take your pick, both have everything for the home and the construction site. You can't go wrong buying from either one. I go to Home Depot because there's no Lowe's in my town, otherwise I'd buy from both stores.”
