Please get an account here. If you have a family member who works for the schools- ask them. I've been with them since 2001. They've given me my first loan (I was borderline not going to get it but the bank boss at that time overrode it .) I'm glad he did. I never made 1 last payment because I felt such honor that that boss man believed in me. Fast forward 20 years; still loving the intimate locations, super friendly tellers, free coin exchange, no excessive wait on their hotline, the app is easy to use. They have overdraft protection for your checking in case you don't have enough funds. It's like a credit card for your checking so no fees! The fees here are minimal. I'm never had any. Yadira at this branch is the best. She will be your bestie by the time you leave.. I've heard horror stories from other banks. I've never had any bad experiences .The best people work here too. It's a bank that wants their customers to succeed

What a joke. Tired to pay off my car sent them a check twice. Called them several times trying to get them to cash my check. Get this it took them a month to finally cash my check of. $13,000. They closed my account before they cashed my check. The right hand doesn't know what the left hands doing. We will never go thur this company again. ADVICE IS DON'T USE THIS CREDIT UNION. BECAUSE WE ARE TRULY SORRY WE DID.!!!!!

This story is from two years ago, but I will never forget it. I was overseas and got pickpocketed. I lost my phone as well as my debit card and would not be back home for another 7 weeks. Mastercard couldn't do anything for me, since they would just ship the card home, and I couldn't get ahold of anyone there anyway. I forget the gentleman's name, but I managed to connect with someone at Schools First. They verified my identity and were able to rush me a card within 24 business hours. I am confident that no other bank would have done the same thing for me. Every experience I've had with them has been exceptionally positive and I recommend them to every eligible person I know. I've been with them for 5 years now and I never plan on switching. A very belated thank you to the team at Schools First! ^_^

Let me start off by saying this is my first ever Yelp review, I came to the Cerritos branch because Javier Ramirez would always help me in the West Covina branch, I was heart broken to hear he would be moving to a different branch since West Covina is my home branch. Although Cerritos is a drive for me I still decided to make the trip to see Javier because I know I'm in great hands with him. Javier has seen me grow every time he helps me, he has helped me build my credit up, he has guided me to make better financial decisions, and most importantly he shows he cares about me. Even in the toughest times where I have been turned down, or had no way out of a tough situation/life event Javier has been there for me. Not just me but my family as well I know I can count Javier to guide us in the right path, it's rare when a person gets to know you personally and shows compassion, I was going through a tough time my grandpa had passed away, my mom started losing her battle to glaucoma, and then I lose 1 of my jobs, I had no hope in the world, it came down crumbling before my eyes, and Javier was there every step of the way to helping me get back up on my feet and with my finances, and that is something I will never forget. Thank you Javier, for being my advocate.

I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Javier Ramirez! He has helped me and my family with auto loans, credit card applications and personal loans. I found out he moved from the west covina branch to the Cerritos branch about a week ago! No matter we he is at he still delivers that EXCELLENT customer service! We just did a credit card application for myself without any problems! Everything was smooth fast and easy, awesome! Looks like me and the family will be taking trips out to the Cerritos branch when we need help with future things! Keep up the good work!

Sucks, they always have something wrong. They never have cards or the "card system is down" they don't have card number thing. Dude it's ridiculous the amount of crap I've had happen at this branch with atms and in the branch lol.

I love the in-service, but due to shorter hours we get the poor quality service online, my credit card was compromised which was weird because the card was still in my wallet but they always alert me. The bad news was I called the number and was placed on hold for 12 minutes to hear someone say "hello can I help you" then hang up on me, so I decided to drive there but I got to Cerritos at 4:10 with about 6 other people but hey we missed it by 10minutes (don't drive so damm slow right), so funny, it gets even better, I am on hold for another 16 minutes to be hung up on again, so I call back again and stay on hold for another Joke is on me, good one Schools First, thanks for the laugh. I feel really worthless during all this, thanks for reminding me of who I am today- just a mere human trying like everyone else to survive the Jumangi 9.0 2020 game of life. Me time wasted- 25 minutes driving (my fault for not checking new covid hours) but come on another 22 minutes after already on hold 12 and 16minutes on the phone to wait again to talk to someone named Eleeine who apologized for all the hazzle. I wish there was at least one schools first still open to 5 because so many dishonest people in the world and this was stressing me out so many people or hire more people who know how to answer the phone properly. time to wait to talk to a human= 50 minutes (already on hour) not good costumer service

Called the number behind my school first card and so glad Shahzad M answered me today. I had questions and he had all the answers. I had to reset all my information from my account I was overwhelmed with my anxiety even before he answered but he was so patient and calm with me that I felt better and calmed down. He did a great job really made my day to speak to someone who actually wanted to help and not feel like a burden with all my questions. He was so sweet and would tell me "it's ok no rush take ur time im here to help". At the end I got all the help I needed everything was fixed now I have a new card coming in with a new design and all my account info is fixed. Thank you Shahzad
