poor mail delivery service, missing packages, theft, unpredictable service, etc.

The new delivery contractors are a nightmare. The male of the couple has twice physically abused his partner on the route, most recently Monday. He routinely drives with an open container, even early in the day, and is beligerant, threatening and may be armed. Mail is routinely not delivered. Multiple boxes in one location have all the mail dumped in one box for the residents to sort among themselves. This will not end well.

In one year they’ve had only ONE delivery person who got my location right for groceries and Water deliveries. Usually my stuff ends up down the street and missing. I’m so fed up. Really only 1 star.

East Carmel Valley...good luck getting your stuff delivered. The driver picks and chooses what they want to deliver and rarely makes it to the right address or delivered at all. They love to use the old customer requested a hold to make you go and pick up your stuff at the post office or mark it delivered and get it days later. The Post Master is a fool who must of been forced out of Monterey to work the Valley for their incompetence.

The carrier for Cachagua is extremely unprofessional and the Postmaster has no control over his employees.

They try hard at this post office. It is not the staff's fault for problems emanating in Washington, D.C.!

Looking for a Post Office? There is one in Carmel Valley, and it is efficient! Great customer service and they even have Hallmark Greeting Cards!

This is my favorite post office! They are definitely short staffed, but make up for it with their customer service. They always help me with any problems I have with packages, And seem happy to answer any questions I have. Thank you for the great service!!

I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS REVIEW, I HAVE NOT HAD MAIL DELIVERY ALL WEEK AND PACKAGES THAT ARE MARKED RECEIVED BUT NOT LEFT FOR ME. THERE SHOULD BE AN ALTERNATE DELIVERY PERSON IF ONE IS OUT SICK. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND WILL BE CONTACTING POSTMASTER OF THE AREA.

December 2017 by Great Skin
December 1, 2017: It's been more than nine days since mail has been delivered in Carmel Valley. Supposedly, the carrier is out ill so the entire Carmel Valley operation comes to an abrupt halt. No one seems to know anything, or if they do they're not saying. There is no Post Master at the Carmel Valley Post Office only an "Officer in Charge" named Ruben who is nowhere to be found. A USPS employee named Sue who was working behind the counter refused to accept a formal complaint about mail not being delivered for nine days. Several customers were at the post office on December 1st asking about their mail including a gentleman from the local plumbing company asking about the delivery of parts so that he could fix his customer's septic system. His parcel was special delivered to the Carmel Valley Post Office on Monday, November 27th but was still not delivered to him by Friday, December 1st. "We have no way of knowing where it is," Sue explained, "To try to find your package would take hours. Just be patient and hopefully you'll get it soon." Totally unacceptable! Phone calls to the Carmel Valley Post Office are answered by a non-descript voice mail and then hangs up without taking a message. There appears to be a more nefarious reason for the nine day non-delivery of mail than a single carrier being out ill causing the total shutdown in Carmel Valley. Where is our mail? Why doesn't anyone know or say when our mail is to be delivered? Why isn't Ruben, the Officer in Charge, manning the counter and handling this very serious FEDERAL issue of missing mail? DECEMBER 5, 2017 UPDATE: Finally received mail today which should have been delivered on November 24th. I received an email from Ruben Rojas, Acting Post Master for Carmel Valley and was informed that "Michelle was back as of December 5th and mail would be delivered." Very poor leadership and management at the Carmel Valley Post Office. Management refused to take responsibility for the delivery of the mail and as a result the absence of a single carrier brought an entire region to a screeching halt with no mail delivery for nearly two weeks.

Small p.o. with only one server ever. If it is crowded you wait. Everyone knows everyone so a lot of chatter and slow service
