We went to Monterey last summer and Carmel Bay Company was a good store to view. Inside there were bars of soap, fashionable clothing and greeting cards with books. On the way out, I was surprised when I saw Two Bad Mice greeting cards written by Anita Jeram, illustrator of Sam McBratney's book, Guess How Much I Love You.

Visited to look at some books with my children when a man with long gray hair ripped a book out of my 4 year olds hands and said "these aren't toys". My daughter was visibily upset so we left. I will just buy books off Amazon.

This is a really nice and unique tourist gift shop, it is located in the historic seven arts building in downtown Carmel by the sea, it was founded in 1972 by long time residents of Carmel Barney & Patty Scollan, the building was build by Patty's grandfather in 1925. There are so many unique looking gifts here plus merchandises from everywhere, there is a awesome selection of Items for the kitcher, bathroom, clothing. mugs, towels, toys, art, candles, books, furnishing also some fun products too, there is a up stairs wiht also merchandises. The staff here was very friendly and helpful, how do you say service with a warm smile, I will be back here to purchase more Items.

A HUGE gift shop boasting local goods and brands, and an entire upper floor for clothing and accessories. Lower level is mostly books, toys, houseware and other gift items. Costs range as well -- perhaps some more affordable items here than other shops on the main strip. Staff were super friendly! My friends and I arrived near closing time on Boxing Day and staff were still welcoming and hospitable to all guests.

Love this little gift store spot. I have been coming here since I was a little girl visiting my grandparents in the area. They always have fun home, decor, pieces, kitchen items, clothing, items for children, and so much more. They offer some things that you see in other gift stores, but they also offer items that you don't really see anywhere else. If you were walking up and down the heart of Carmel, definitely pop in and see what this place has to offer. The ladies who work there are super sweet, very kind, and they are not pushy or judge at all. They welcome everyone in with open arms.

Great selection and variety of gifts and goodies. Make sure to head upstairs to check out stationery and clothing items. I also found some cute candles on sale from the holidays. Just docking a star for the cashier who was reeeeeeally taking her time despite a line of 3+ people forming.

A gem in Carmel beautiful boutique with a gorgeous inventory of clothing, home goods and too much to stuff beautiful clothing and an outrageously gorgeous decorated, the staff is warm and welcoming plus super helpful, I purchased the most beautiful dress, and much more. If you are in Carmel make sure you stop at Carmel by the Bay Company and start treasure hunting I promise you won't leave empty handed. I will be returning to get more goodies!!!! See you soon!!!!!

Awesome gift shop in this cute town. Special shout out to the owner who was so helpful and quickly ran the register before my wife came by; as i wanted to get a gift for my wife in secret as she was looking at other items in the store. Thank you!! I’ll be giving it to her as a surprise this Valentine’s Day.
