Our dog, Feller, has been home exactly a year now and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We definitely need to continue to do our job but the training was instilled in our pup after his 6 weeks with Thomas.

I have been attending the Saturday obedience classes for the last eight or so months. Working with Thomas and my pup has been a great experience and has built a great bond with my one-year-old German Shepherd, Milo. Milo has been a stubborn boy from the moment I got him and training him has been no different. At the Saturday obedience trainings, everyone gets their own advice and if one method doesn't work, Thomas goes at it with a different approach. Thomas's experience has helped me break through barriers with Milo and I feel confident taking him in public. He is calm and approachable in public and listens to his commands. I look forward to classes every Saturday and so does Milo! I highly recommend Thomas!!

This story starts out with my daughter adopting a German Shepherd from the Butte Humane Society. We had her for 2 weeks and she was a handful, would not listen, would not calm down and in general, was a dog that had no discipline training or attention for the first 2 years of her life. She had run away so many times from the previous owner that they finally left her at the shelter for someone to adopt. She was supposed to be my daughter's dog, but that changed after 2 more years and she became my best companion due to my medical issues. She follows all the commands and walks with me every morning without pulling or getting distracted. She is almost a service dog with her ability to follow commands.Thomas is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent trainer. We selected the full training package and she stayed at the training center for a few weeks to complete the training. That was the best investment in Midnight we could have ever made. As time went on we continued to go to the Saturday training classes as an outing for Midnight and myself. We would do various commands as well as off-leash training and it got to the point I was no longer able to attend the Saturday classes, but she has become such a good companion due to the training by Thomas at the German Dog Training Center. The facility is beautiful, clean, and has a large field for training. We can't say enough good things about Thomas and appreciate everything he has done for Midnight and for us as a family!Dale Carlson

After carefully studying for 8 years Thomas Sauerhoefer and his technics to train GSDs I've finally decided to dropped off my 4 month old dark sable GSD with him on 03/26/2022, Since i feed Logan Puppy food he recommended i bring Logans puppy food. I am confident Thomas will take care of my dog. Advance Obedience. I will get back to you all to let you know the results in 6 weeks or less. 05/08/2022 UPDATE: Picked up Logan and as expected...Well trained, German Commands. Dog responds instantly to commands. Def. Recommend Thomas!

We left our German Shepherd puppy with Thomas for six weeks for basic training. Unfortunately, at the end of the six weeks, the dog is absolutely untrained. She does not know any basic commands - not even sit, stay or come. Look elsewhere for dog training.

DO NOT GO TO THIS TRAINING FACILITY. Thomas is a fraud and one of the shittiest people we have ever met. We left our healthy German Shepherd puppy with him for basic training. We had a very stubborn puppy who was very anxious. We left our pup with him thinking he was a good trainer based on all his reviews. They were all lies. Our puppy came home with even worse anxiety and had not learned anything that was described on the website. In the beginning he told us our pup was transitioning good and she was amazing. When we came to pick her up he rambled on and on about how our puppy was so hard to train and had every problem a puppy could ever have. It was a complete waste of $1500 dollars. We believe our puppy, along with every other puppy there, is being left in their cage all day with very little food and water. Our puppy came home skinnier than before. We took his word and went to one of his Saturday trainings where owners worked with their pets and we heard him making jokes about starving his dogs when they wouldn't obey him. We never went back after this. Our puppy is truly traumatized and so are we. We absolutely do not recommend this training facility to anyone.

My Beautiful Belgian Malinois died in the German dog training center. Thomas Sauerhofer was training g my dog, however he Neglected him to the point of death. At the second month of training we visited the facilities, the kennels were dirty, there was p*** inside the kennels, and the Uribe smell was terrible. I told Thomas Sauerhofer to improve my dogs's living conditions. Rex was supposed to be there for 3 months but this guy said he needed more time, at the 4th month he said my dog needed more training. He finally said that Rex would be ready to leave at the end of July. My dog didn't come back home...he died alone and NEGLECTED by Thomas Sauerhofer This guy has no honor or integrity. He said he was going to refund us the $6,500 we paid for training but he didn't. He won't return our calls either. Yuba county animal services went to investigate but this guy didn't open the door. We are devastated...

We were very optimistic when we took our puppy to Thomas. Every review was glowing and we thought we'd found the Holy Grail of trainers. When we took him for his 6 week advanced training, we were asked if there were specific behaviors that we would like to have addressed beyond the guaranteed obedience that he would be learning. The two things we requested help on were, jumping up and ignoring us. As we left, Thomas told us to call anytime and that we were welcome to visit. We texted a few times the first couple of days to be sure he was settling in. We visited our puppy at one week, at which time we were told he was getting settled and that training would be beginning. We told Thomas that we would stop again in two weeks on our way through. At week 3 of his training, we could not see any change for the better in behavior or training. When asked about what he was learning, Thomas flew off the handle and started yelling and swearing and then stormed off. He said we shouldn't even be there until his training was completed. With much trepidation, we decided to leave the puppy for the the final 3 weeks of training. We did not talk, text or bother Thomas in any way. At the end of the 6 week period, we picked our puppy up. Thomas told us that he is a very intelligent dog but strong headed. We could not get him under control until Thomas put a pinch collar on him. With that collar on, he would heel, drop, sit, stay and come. (we had already taught him sit, drop, stay and come). Thomas spent some time with us showing us what we needed to do to "transfer " his training to us. He sent us home with the pinch collar. Our dog is FAR from being advanced trained. There is little to no control off leash. No doubt, Thomas would say it is because of us, but that is not true. We work him daily with the training collar following Thomas' instructions. In summary, we researched diligently to find the best training for our dog. We did not find one negative review and were excited to get him trained. After experiencing this, there are many things that were not positive; primarily the training. Maybe we were just the "unicorn"! He said he had 21 dogs at his facility at the time. That doesn't give a trainer much time for each dog.

Thomas is known for his excellent work with German Shepherds but we needed him to train our stubborn Japaneses Akita. Thankfully, Thomas welcomed our dog into his training and WOW we were ecstatic about the results. When we dropped off our dog he was tearing apart our house - carpet, drapes you name it. When he returned from his training with Thomas, he was so much better mannered, listened to commands and is such a joy to have around. We don't even need to put him in his kennel when we leave the house anymore. We continue to attend the Saturday classes and see tremendous improvement every week. We highly recommend Thomas for any dog breed. He does amazing work.
