Wow.
We just purchased a Beautiful 2016 Nissan Frontier from this Family Owned Car lot that has been business for 20 years selling quality used cars and trucks. Mr and Mrs William Hartman and their Son John are by far the nicest people ,with a stress free approach. They make a impression on us with everything explained up front. No secrets here. Made My Wife and Me feel very good about our purchase.

I don't really write reviews all that much, but I wanted to make an exception for this business. My wife and I needed to buy a used vehicle recently, and we were looking for a particular make, model and year. After going to a number of ‘shady’ used car dealerships in the Valley (disorganized, dirty, full of either impatient or apathetic salesmen looking to make a quick buck with overpriced, crappy-looking used cars)... finally the car we were looking for showed up in a search engine that brought us to California Auto Resources.
When we arrived, we found Bill's zero-pressure, "take your time" approach with us so refreshing! This meant a lot to us because this was a big purchase decision and we’d already been practically traumatized by our experiences at most of the other dealerships.
Turns out California Auto Resources is a husband/wife owned and operated business. Bill is the meticulous mechanic who flips the cars, while his wife, Angela, handles the business/bookkeeping end of things.
After a thorough examination, we took the car for a test drive, and it decided we really liked the car. However, we still had some hesitations before purchasing, some of which could be alleviated by a third-party pre-purchase mechanical inspection. Bill allowed us to take it to a nearby mechanic to have it inspected. Upon inspection, the other mechanic discovered the brake pads were a little worn and might need replacing. Bill said, “No problem,” and he made sure we had fresh brake pads on the car before the ink was dry on our contract.
But the story doesn't end there. After we took it home, we started to discover that the power locks started to malfunction intermittently. Also, since we were so used to only using the key-fob to lock/unlock doors, it took us a while to realize that the actual physical key didn't work on the door or the trunk (only the ignition). This resulted in running the risk of getting locked out of the car. I tried trouble-shooting the issue myself, but couldn’t find a solution. So I called Bill and asked him if he had any suggestions on what to do. Legally, we had bought the car “as-is,” so I wasn't really expecting much help. However, he told me to bring the car into his shop, and he ended up fixing the problem – free of charge! We recently got the car back from him and things are working smoothly now. Bill really went above-and-beyond for us, even though he didn’t have to.
I just wanted to write this review in appreciation to Bill and Angela. It is rare to get this level of honesty, integrity and customer care when purchasing a used vehicle. So when you experience it, you simply can't help but to tell everyone you can. Thank you, Bill and Angela, for patiently working with us, answering all of our questions, and taking great care of us!
We have been, and will continue to, point all our friends to California Auto Resources when they are in the market for a used car.

I bought my second vehicle from them today and am very pleased with the vehicles and the service. This place is a real gem. The owners Bill and Angela are very polite, kind, and low pressure. I always feel comfortable there. They specialize in low milage, older vehicles and the quality control is excellent. This is the place to go if you want to pay a reasonable price for a unique and quality older used vehicle. I have driven all the way from Lake Isabella to purchase from them twice.

I bought a car for my son from CAR a few months ago and almost forgot to leave a review. First of all, the customer service is second to none. A small family dealer packed with great service. Angela and Bill were very informative and super friendly. Secondly, the car I purchased (mazda3) was priced well and in great shape. I can't thank Angela and Bill enough for having the right car for my son. I urge anyone looking for a used vehicle to stop by CAR and look at their inventory.

This dealership offers the very best in service and a great selection in used cars. I walked into the dealership lot and was greeted by Angela. I told her the type of vehicle I was looking for and that I had been on their website looking at their cars. I was lucky to find a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox that had only 67,000 miles. I looked at the car and the body was exceptional. At that time I met Bill who told me to look inside. Inside was beautiful also. I could see that it had been detailed and smelled good. Bill went to start the car, but it wouldn't start. He told me the car hadn't been started in awhile and he then used a charger to get it started. we went for a drive and the car drove perfectly. After the drive, I told him I was interested in the car and he told me he would put a new battery in it. The battery arrived before I finished the paperwork and Bill had installed it in record time. Bill is a ASE certified mechanic. Pretty impressive. Angela did the paperwork and was very timely, even with me asking her questions. I have to say that I really felt comfortable there at their dealership. I know that sounds crazy, but Bill and Angela really know how to make you feel at home. I've bought many cars over the years and only a few times can I actually say this. If you find yourself looking for a nice, clean used car, Please look their cars over on their website or take a drive. I'm sure you will be surprised like I was.

I cannot recommend this mom-and-pop dealership enough! Bill and Angela were both friendly, patient, and courteous from the very moment I arrived. They answered every question I had and explained anything I was uncertain of. To top it all off, the prices and fees were all broken down to be sure we were on the same page. Thank you for all the help! Looking forward to meeting again should I be looking for another car!

I bought a 2005 Dodge Caravan low miles , 2 years ago still running good if I ever need another car will differently go back to purchase another vehicle. Excellent Customer service. Will recommend this Dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle.
