Just want to say I had a great experience with Laura at Auburn Hertz. She was able to accommodate a last minute change to pickup my car an 1-1/2 sooner the day of reservation. I'll definitely be coming back!

Picking up was a hasell and then dropping off was even worse i sat in tge lobby for 35 minutes without a single person coming to greet me or take the car keys from me. After about 45 minutes i left the keys on the counter and left. Seems like a day care as well so i dont know whats going on here. Strongly advise using this hertz

Came in to rent a truck from them paid everything sat around waiting for 30 minutes for them to clean the wood chips out of the cab of the truck. Not sure why they let cars sit dirty waiting to be rented before they clean them wasting customers time. Finally the lady comes back to the front and tells me that there is a nail in the tire and the tire lights on so they can't rent me the truck and that no other locations have a truck available. They offer me a car instead which was just stupid. Not even at a lower or discounted rate. Horrible experience and I will never be renting from this company again. After being told I couldn't leave in the truck the lady left the room for another 15 minutes while I just waited to have her cancel the reservation. I had to call for a ride to get back to work wasting more of my time and now a coworkers. This whole thing ended up costing my company $50 in a non refundable insurance thing for the rental I didn't even get. As well as HOURS of my time and another employees. When I asked if they could comp a future rental or discount they said they aren't allowed to do that

Great experience with Hertz Auburn CA. Had some vehicle issues and they were very flexible about extending our rental week by week until we purchased our new one. Reasonable rates and super easy to work with... Five stars.

I made the reservation online and when I went to pick it up they didn't have it. They said they won't ever have that vehicle at that location. They were kind in speaking with me but was disappointed they didn't have the vehicle

Extremely rude customer service from Matthew. I arrived 20 minutes early to pick up my rental. He told me the car wasn't ready and that I should have made my appointment for an earlier time. He had a real arrogance to him and acted like I was stupid for not setting up an earlier time. He told me, "I run this show and I'm here alone so you'll have to wait." I asked him how dirty is the car? He told me I'd have to wait so I went outside and waited in my husband's Jeep. I then saw three more Hertz employees so he lied and wasn't working alone. After waiting less than 10 minutes he came outside and told me his coworker would be bringing up the car in a minute so I went inside and finished up the rental paperwork. The car I got had a horrible smell, I have no idea what the smell was. I dropped off my husband's Jeep down the road at Predator Off-road and then walked back down to Hertz and I was off. I went and picked up my daughter for lunch, she got in the car and was grossed out by the way the car smelled. My husband's Jeep ended up taking two weeks for the work that was being done so I kept extending the rental. At one point my credit card company must have thought the Hertz charges were fraudulent so they did not allow the charge. Matthew told me this was going to trigger an automatic repossession and to expect a repo man which I suspect was a lie. He told me he could not take another card over the phone. My credit card company was updating their system so they couldn't look up my account until the following morning. The next morning I had it straightened out and the charges were able to go through. The rental car sat in the sun for two weeks so by the time I returned it the stink was gone. I do NOT recommend this car rental place unless you enjoy being treated poorly by a j*** employee.

Unfortunately one star is mandatory. I don't know who manages this place, but you made my wife cry and she's the sweetest person ever. It takes someone with an incredibly bad attitude to break her. Stranded, in need and you deny us a car we have reserved, then have the nerve to be a d*ck about it? Take your hostility elsewhere. Hertz has always been good to us besides today. We will likely be taking our business to Enterprise in the future.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! The guy was on the phone and only paused his conversation long enough to tell me my reservation wouldn't be honored. I had spoke with someone there multiple times today, as recently as 15 minutes before, to confirm that I would have a car before jumping through hoops to get there. We had broke down on the way there and had to be towed, then take a taxi. He barely explained the situation was extremely dismissive and rude, then closed the door in my face. Considering I spent the afternoon broke down on the side of the of the road, I honestly can't believe this was the worst part of my day. I am horrified and offended by this treatment. End result was a $200 cab ride home.

Manager is beyond horrible! I agree with all the bad reviews on here. Booked online and he gave away my car without notice. Lied and said he called and left message, which he clearly did not. Then he got an attitude and said I threatened him. Asked me to leave, which I did. Then he locked the door and called the police on me, for no reason. Cops sided with me. He is a rude, ridiculous joke. I am a long-time Hertz Top Tier Presidential member and have never been treated like this. Lost my service. Please Auburn Hertz... get a new manager that knows how to respect customers and one that actually cares about their job and their customers. Renters beware!

Absolutely nasty cars and nasty service. Cars are smoked in, not cleaned and not ready when you get there. Guy at the front counter is awful.

I stopped in the Auburn office 30 minutes before closing to inquire about a rental, expecting to be disappointed. After a few taps on the computer, and a trip to the back room, Matthew found me a rental. Thanks so much for going the extra mile!
