“We happened by this place while going to Wendy’s in the same parking lot. They have a very good selection of Asian, mainly Chinese, grocery items. They have tanks with live seafood and even offer to fry the selected fish for free. They have a good selection of tofu and vegetarian products. The story is a little bit small considering all of the items that they carry. Prices are comparable to other Asian markets.”
“I had been thinking of shopping at Alhambra Market more often to support them because I hate that many independent and small businesses are closing. I was on the way to meet a client last Thursday and noticed some work being done in front of the market...I pull in and the parking lot has freshly painted lines for individual parking spaces. There are men on a ladder to my right as I approach the entrance installing light fixtures and what seems to be a security camera... interesting. I walk in an there's a young, tall black man wearing glasses, working the cash register. I got curious and started asking some questions, which he answerd in a calm and friendly manner. His name is John, he tells me the market has just been acquired and there's new owners now, I take a look around and everything looks a little cleaner, the shelves are well stocked and the sweet Mexican-style bread (pan dulce) tempts me to take a bite, or two. This time I resist successfully. I returned today with my wife to shop and we found the produce, herbs, fruit we needed. I invited my daughter to have some coffee flavored ice cream (that way I don't look like I'm the sweet tooth/instigator) and she was happy. Hopefully the store will continue on a more successful trend as it has been an important part of the community for at least as long as I have been a resident. Can't wait to see it thrive through many more years.”
“One of the best place to shop in the areas for organic produce! Service was very good. Inside the store is known area as dead zone for cell service. Do not shop here at night as the people parking lights are an eyesore. Big thumbs down to the landlord management team for allowing these hideous lights.”
“Go to Majestic for terrific frozen wontons. Around $0.50 a piece. Homemade shrimp shell broth, fresh egg noodles, green onions and Chinese broccoli and you are good as gold in your super clean home.”
“Generally good store. Good selection as usual, but I feel like other smart and finals have a wider selection. It can get a little crowded sometimes but they usually are well-staffed. Generally all the workers are very friendly and courteous.”
“I've been shopping at this market for years and have always had great service. The areas are clean. The music playing on the speakers is good. Not some too loud but nice ambience to shop to. The fruits and veggies are fresh. I like the deli department selection as well as the daily made sushi. Also the kids go crazy happy at the big toys section they have all year long. I'm really happy that they sell make up as well so I don't have to go to some specialty store and I can get everything done in one place. Keep up the good work everybody.”
