I am so pleased to live 2 blocks from this market!! The vegetables are fresh and good. Tonnes of variety, I can buy what I need when I need it and they now take credit cards. This is a great little shop. Need nice bowls, plates, woks etc they have it all. Even meat can be purchased there in the freezers. Great little shop.

Used to be great before the new owners. Now some of the prices have doubled and the staff doesn't even speak English. A few products I needed didn't have price tags on them and when I asked a staff member about it, he replied back in Chinese and then walked away. Inside is also dirty and smelly at some parts.

Grabbed enoki mushroom from their fridge, purchased and headed home. Just opened the bag and it was slimy. I was reluctant to return as they're generally not friendly. I'm not up for awkward exchanges. I decided to keep the rotting enoki mushrooms instead of returning. I'll go elsewhere. I used to go there a lot but it's time for a change.

I really like this Asian market in Chinatown! The fresh produce is great, and their selection of Asian products is incredible. I'm a regular customer and always leave with a cart full of goodies. If you're looking for quality produce and a wide variety of Asian products, this market is a must-visit. Highly recommend.

Visited this store for the first time since new ownership took over. I noticed some changes, and not for the better. The sidewalk produce stand was poorly supplied, and the quality of the produce was highly variable. The prices have definitely been adjusted upward. Inside the store the staple stock seems to be short in many areas. The jarred items have hand-written price tags placed over the originals, and the increases are significant. Overall, this usually messy, untidy store is now quite dirty as well. I am quite disappointed to make these observations. This store was at one time a favourite destination for Asian food items, but the price gouging and overall uncleanliness have removed the store from my "favourites" list. I cannot recommend this store.

Tried to find some fruits while traveling in Victoria. Incidentally behind our AirBNB is this Fisgard Market. It opens at 9:00AM, which is early enough for me. Like the typical Chinese grocery stores, cash is the king. When I pulled out two C$5 bills that were vintages from 25 years ago, the cashier was amazed. Fortunately she accepted it but rejected my € coins. Ha! What an adventure.

What can you say about Fisgard market? This jam-packed little Asian grocer that spills right out into the sidewalk has been a stapled at Chinatown in Victoria for decades. I believe it was called something else previously, maybe Quonley's? But I digress, if you can't find it here, you probably can't find it anywhere in Victoria. They have a great selection of Asian vegetables all out in the sidewalk. An amazing selection of sauces, spices, noodles, rices and cooking compliments. They have wrappers, snacks, Filipino food, Japanese food, Chinese food items. Some of the shelves look like they're so heavy they're going to just explode onto the floor. I say give this place a try, you may not get a smile from anyone and you may have to duck a few times as people fly past you with their hand trucks full of grocery items being unloaded from trucks right out front. But you will not be disappointed.

For those who are looking for Asian ingredients on the island - this is THE place to go. Much bigger variety than Fairway. For instance, ALL flavours of Korean fire chicken noodles. I mean ALL. Like, 10. Please stop complaining about the service. Let’s be honest, that shouldn’t be your top priority when you walk into a shop like this. Just get your stuff that you can’t find elsewhere, pay up, and leave.

Cash or debit cards only in 2022 at a grocery store? Didn't see signage other than the machine saying no tap.

Some of the instant sauces have expired, pay attention to the expiry date when purchasing!

This store has been here for generations. Prices are competitive. If you don't feel like traveling to Richmond, this will be the closest alternative. They sell everything from chinese kitchen equipment, incense, chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, philipino food, to chinese medicine.Only downside are that their confectionery are not the freshest, but that is why you can go to the restaurant next door Wai Lue Yan. No hot food either.Parking can be a pain if you do not live downtown.
