After missing their original forecast, I got ahold of SAIA and offered to pick up the shipment from their yard. However, they wanted a lot extra money in "reconsignment charges"... Keep in mind, they were already charging "remote access locations" charges because our shop is a ways from the city.I've done this before with other carriers and they are usually happy to let me pick up at the yard (not their problem anymore!)UPDATE: (and when the shipment finally arrived, it was damaged, including damage to the packing slip)

Shipping large scale metal sculptures across the country is made less stressful with great truckers to carry them.

The driver called & said "he'd be there in a minute ". I waited outside in my front yard in 100 degree heat for three hours. No truck in front of my house, or in the driveway & no one rang a bell on the gate. I went inside and called the office, and the lady suggested I gave them the wrong address. So maybe next week the power wheelchair for my 101 year old Mother will arrive on Wednesday & I can quit lifting her about. I was told the driver was 7 minutes down the road in Rio Rico, but he couldn't stop on his return run to Tucson from Nogales.

Sunday August 8 2021.Extremely small yard. No room to drop trailers. I hope Saia is looking for a larger Tucson yard.

They do not answer their phones, their phone service is not clear. Almost every delivery to our business is stranded in Tucson AZ and sits for days.

Expected shipment on Mar. 31. When it didn't arrive, I called and was told it was in transit to Tucson, and would arrive on Apr.1. When it didn't arrive on Apr. 1, I called and was told it was delayed and would arrive on Apr. 2. When it hadn't been delivered by Apr. 6, I called and was told they called us before attempting delivery on Apr. 5 and we never called back. When asked what number they called, they gave a number that is not associated with my business. I spoke with Rene and he told me the best he could do was arrange to deliver first thing in the morning on April 7. When I asked him to provide a time range so I could ensure I had personnel available to meet the truck, he said it would be here between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. It arrived at approximately 9:30 a.m. No explanation was ever given for why the shipment sat at their transfer station Friday and Monday all day, other than they called us and we didn't return their call. Had Rene said he couldn't guarantee a time, I would have been disappointed. Having been told the shipment would be here between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. and paying employees to wait around doing nothing for 2.5 hours is more than disappointing. Some of these issues may be the fault of Echo, our logistics partner, but certainly not all. Bottom line, they didn't do what they said they would do.

Shipment was delayed by carrier. Shipment was supposed to be delivered today, July 2nd. Shipment won’t arrive to Tucson office till 3:00 am. Tucson office is closed on a weekday July 3rd to be able to unload our goods. Shipment is specific to the 4th of July. I would avoid this company if you need your goods delivered by a deadline.
