Last year was our second year here, utilizing our eyecare benefits. The front receptionist was cordial and pleasant. The ophthalmologist was also pleasant, knowledgeable and very informative. He was also very helpful in letting my husband, and I, to know and understand how our daughter's eyesight was, and how her vision is with, and without eyeglasses. The owner was also very professional, and helpful in calling me to let me know that the office would be open the following week after the Christmas holiday, since there was no recording letting patients know this. It was very important to know, since our benefits ended, and needed to be utilized before the end of the month.
On another token, the woman, Kim, who is the Office Manager, as well as the person in charge of eyeglass sales, was a totally different story. Albeit, she is cordial and pleasant, though she is very pushy. Realizing that there were options to choose from when selecting our eyeglasses, this was not told to us the prior year, and we paid a really high price, out-of-pocket in 2016!
While going through the selections for my eyeglasses for the year 2017, this time, paying very close attention, I asked which were my options to choose from. My husband was sitting close-by, knowing this all along. She looked at me for a long while, then stated that the board on the desk was not the actual board, and retrieved another one. She showed me all the options, then stated "My boss chose me to work here for a reason. My name stands behind my work. For your vision, you need exactly the particular selections that I chose especially for your frames, and the materials needed. Especially, if you sit behind a computer for hours, and you need them for work." I told her "Okay, well, what if I decide to choose this and this, instead of this and this?" She stated "Then I would have to decline." Really, when this is my money and my insurance benefits?!! I told her that "For that amount of money, I could use it on part of our vacation or on my family, and I would have to think about it and I don't spend that kind of money on myself. Besides, I only need them to drive at night, and I do not sit behind a computer for hours, and I currently do not work."
We took our business to Vision Works in December of 2017. We were told there that single vision glasses do not require any special materials nor frames. They received numerous unsatisfied customer's from Camino Eye Care in that last week. Needless to say, they lost our continued business, as well as others.
