HORRIBLE! This location is hands down the most poorly run operation in town.
They accept insurance claim assignments without even having the cars to fill the reservation.
They are rude.
They take sooooo long to do their one job, give a customer a car and send them down the road.
After the experience being as bad as it was we ask for a change of venue and got our reservations switched to Enterprise. What a massively better experience that was.

We recently reserved a vehicle from this Hertz location and had a great experience thanks to Sherie, the agent who helped us with our rental.
When we arrived to pick up our car we were informed that due to over bookings from the previous day there were no cars available even with reservations. Although it was out of her control, Sherie went above and beyond to get us a car quickly and even got us upgraded. She stayed calm and friendly as the line started to grow, and was quick to help each customer get what they need.
Based on this experience we look forward to renting from this location again.

Rented a car today and the oil life was at 4%. I have called the local number repeatedly and no one will answer the phone. Their 800 line is an even bigger joke. A massive company with the most pathetic customer service ever.

If I could rate this location a zero, I would!
I made a reservation for an SUV days in advance and arrived early to avoid issues. John was the only employee behind the counter and it was immediately apparent that he was overwhelmed. After he wrapped up with the customer he’d been working with when I walked in, he walked away without acknowledging me and was gone for a few minutes. When he was finally ready for me, it was just about 1400, which was my reservation’s pickup time, but 40 minutes later, I still didn't have a vehicle and was becoming increasingly frustrated.
John initially offered me a different vehicle than what I had reserved, but assured me that the upgrade wouldn't cost anything. We looked at the vehicle, and agreed to take it only to find out that it didn't have the registration tags it needed. He then showed me another upgraded vehicle, but that was being returned by another customer and her belongings were still in the vehicle. I asked to see the one I had reserved in hopes of expediting the process, but the one he showed me was locked, so I couldn't see inside it and it had a spare tire on it. John advised at that time that 15 vehicles in the lot either needed maintenance or were waiting for registration tags, so my options were limited. I agreed to take the vehicle the other customer was returning, but 20 minutes later, he was “waiting on someone else to process her retutn”, which was causing a delay. I expressed my frustration at being unable to pick up the vehicle I reserved on-time, and John told me it was ready but that I had preferred the upgrade. I disagreed given that the vehicle he showed me had a spare tire on and I had never requested an upgrade, and he told me mine was in the back. I was shocked and annoyed that he was just now informing me of this, but asked to see it. He took me back where I was greeted by a FILTHY car that also had a large stain in the back.
I told John that if he couldn't provide a vehicle timely, I would cancel the reservation and go next door to Enterprise. He told me to “do that” and started getting aggressive. I told him that if he could complete my reservation within the next few minutes, I would proceed, but he cut me off and told me I was starting to cause problems and I should “just go to Enterprise.”
I spent almost an hour trying to gain access to the vehicle reserved in advance but left empty-handed and upset. Not only could John not provide a vehicle, but he would stop assisting mid-sentence and walk away to help another customer who had just entered the building. I also found out after the fact, that an employee had come to the front and was speaking with my mom and two kids, sharing the most inappropriate information. He described the murder of his brother, the death of relatives, as well as their prison stays with them while I was dealing with John.
I'm blown away by the unprofessionalism, lack of respect, and inability to complete a reservation. I went to Enterprise where I was helped immediately, despite not having a reservation, and will NEVER use Hertz. If you live in North Scottsdale, I do not recommend this location. In addition to my reservation, two other customers there also had issues with their reservations and shared their concerns about John with me while we waited.

when booking the vehicle it showed that there were none so it kicked me out - i had to go back in 3x and change the vehicle - went to pick it up - only to wait 40 min for the employee to figure out why he can't check out a car for me......only to find he told me to call the 1800 number for help. did that 0- NO HELP! i also have 2 rental agreements with the same number for 2 different vehicles. then called the branch and they hung up on me after letting it ring. AND the vehicle doesn't have a rear wiper.

The agent was overwhelmed with work but he maintained his great customer service skill throughout my entire experience on my 1st visit here. It's more than obvious this person needed help but not once did he complain; he served ALL customers with excellent service. Please HERTZ give this person a raise. I do not recall his name but he had a pony tail. Eventhough with the long wait, all worked out. I am not sure if I will return here to rent a car; the only reason would be the lengthy wait was over an hour to secure my rental.

The only reason I like this place was bc of John! If his manager see’s this he needs a raise or bonus. I had a very unfortunate situation with hertz on Bell road Hertz- I had a horrible experience, but if you get John as a contact here he will do his best to help you. Additionally, the rental vehicle I got was very clean and I wanted the dodge edge. Thank you John for turning a sad day into a happy day ?.

Exceeded my expectations. I did the early check-in process and I purchased the Manager’s Special. I loved my rental! I got a Buick Encore at a great price. Everything was seamless. And I was able to extend my rental return time very easily online. I will definitely rent from here again. Staff members were very friendly and customer service oriented!!! Great experience!

Hertz in North Scottsdale is just a breeze.From all Rental locations I've been in, it has a nice cool and welcoming environment.Will is so quick at his job you are in and out with the blink of an eye.John is always jolly and friendly.
