Stayed there for 1 night, and that was too many. Kellyn, the "advocate" told me that Richard was a great guy and would tell me the rules of staying when I got there. I was told I couldn't wait in their parking lot and she did warn me it was co-ed and even though she said there were other options that weren't co-ed, she wanted me to stay at that one (I told her I had been $exu@lly @bu$ed and she still stated I had nothing to worry about, even though there were offenders who stayed there. So, Richard never went over the rules with me, didn't tell me what time we were allowed to have showers at, I sat outside while hot food was being served (around 7-8 pm) because they were foods I am deathly allergic to. I wasn't made aware that there is only a one hour time (8-9 pm, which when I was eating the food i had with me(which wasn't much) (and others went on smoke break ) for everyone and anyone who wanted to take a shower, to take one. There was only one shower that I knew of. Like I said, I wasn't given any information about the place, just kind of hurded in through the caged area with other homeless people. After every one ate, and settled in, it was the strangest thing.. everyone literally fell asleep within an hour of each other. I don't know why but it was like clockwork. I didn't so I was up until around midnight. I was hungry and thought I'd take a shower since everyone was asleep and snoring. I went to the staff and asked him where the towels were for a shower. That's when he informed me that I only had the opportunity between 8-9. Ok. I went to reach for my loaf of bread because I was hungry and I wouldn't be cooking or heating anything up (not disturbing anyone from their sleep) and he told me I can't eat until 5am when everyone else was awake. I said I'd sleep better if I could eat a couple of slices of my bread or could shower but he adamantly said no. I asked him if I was in jail. He said no. I asked him if I could take my bread off the shelf to keep with me. He said yes. So I took my load of bread, put my blanket over my head when I lay down on the mattress and got two slices of bread out and ate them. If I'm not in jail, I'm not heating food or cooking or disturbing anyone or causing anyone harm from eating my bread (only one other person there has food allergies like me and I knew it wasn't bread for him) I'm not going to starve. I ate my bread and was able to fall asleep. I was told that I wouldn't be able to come back the next night because I have a car to sleep in, which I understand ... except for the fact that it's illegal and the homeless shelter won't let you sleep in their parking lot (because why would you want homeless people being in a homeless shelters parking lot? ) I never went back

It's such a pleasure to visit the Second Glance store dropping in from time to time to see what treasures we might find there. The store is neat and clean and the prices are much more than fair. The staff are pleasant, friendly and always happy to assist in anything you need help with. Always a nice shopping experience.

Yes, it is a spot to put your head down for the night if there's space available. Is it a long term solution with assistance for homelessness? Absolutely not. Will you be yelled at by the staff for something someone else did while you were trying to get your life together? Absolutely. Use the opportunity to find another location with better support and resources.
