The story is much more organized than it was just a few months ago, but they go through employees faster than anyplace I’ve ever seen. One must assume they’re not a great company to work for.

The store is usually well stocked, however there is usually a line of approx 4 people in checkout. Manager is extremely helpful and pleasant.

Employees at this store care more about stocking than they do about enabling customers to check out. No self-checkout is ever open here and they make you stand at the counter for several minutes before one of multiple employees can be bothered to stop stocking and come to the register. What are they in business for if not to HELP CUSTOMERS buy Dollar General products?

I frequently shop at the location off of Main St. in Cottonwood as it's very close to my home. I usually have a decent experience, they have cute things and I love the $1 section. That being said, I'm disappointed with how some of the employees behave. I understand wholeheartedly that people have bad days and get overwhelmed...HOWEVER, this should not be taken out on the customers! When I went in today, a display had fallen over, which the cashier/manager did point out so I could avoid it. Seeing that he was obviously very busy, I thought I would try and help by picking it up but I hesitated for just a second to think out the easiest way to do it. Well the manager LEFT THE REGISTER with a line full of people and ANGRILY picked it up and was snapping at me about how he didn't have time to pick it up yet because he was busy with customers. I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP!!!!! I just left the store and went and cried in my car for 10 minutes in disbelief. SO to sum up....I will never shop this location again. Don't treat your loyal customers, OR ANYONE, like s**t!!!

I recently shopped at dollar general, and at checkout, I asked the clerk if the credit card machine was set up to take touchless payment. ( not all do, and I was just asking) . He very sarcastically remarked that he didn't know, and perhaps I should wink at it. I tried touchless, and it took it no problem. Then he continued on, remarking that he doesn't pay attention to technology, and the more technology the worse things are...... some one in line behind me grunted "Yeah" ..... okay- what now? You work here and you can't say yes or no to a question? I took my bag, because he left it in the bag holder, and didn't offer it to me, and walked out. I was very disappointed with the huge lack of customer service.

This store went downhill after Jill left. Managers cussing on the sales floor, texting on cell phones, complaining about the job to customers, and talking about their drunken escapades at local bars while checking customers out. Little or no knowledge of product availability, They are dismissive and rude. Past managers have admitted to getting food poisoning from their own poorly stored cold products. I still shop there but the managers need to be replaced.
