My daughter rented a climate controlled storage unit from Radiant Storage to store her belongings in during the summer months. Upon returning back to Tuscaloosa and returning to the storage unit to get her belongings, she discovered that the ceiling above her unit had collapsed due to an extreme amount of water weight. All of her belongings were soaked with brown murky water and many items had begun to develop mold. This was on Friday afternoon 8/9. We called the company immediately and were told to submit pictures via the link they sent and not to move anything until the property manager could assess the situation. After several follow up calls on Saturday we were told the property manager was not available over the weekend and that we would have to wait until Monday to talk to management. We tried calling multiple times over the weekend trying to get in touch with someone who could survey the damage, and eventually was hung up on several times. We finally did get in touch with a woman named Stephanie (she was limited in her authority but was trying to help) and through 3 separate phone calls was at least able to provide another storage unit that we could move my daughter’s stuff to and start the sorting/drying process. She promised a district manager would be in touch on Monday. As of Tuesday, still no call from a district manager. After surveying the units around my daughter, it is evident that there were other units with similar damage that are now sitting empty with visible water damage. You can tell that someone tried to poke holes in the ceiling to release the water in those units to help them dry out. These units are C104 and C102. There are several occupied units C117 through C-102 (basically the entire east wall of C building that have water dripping or (bulging ready to break) from the ceiling. I strongly recommend never renting a storage unit from Radiant Storage. Not only is the company neglectful in maintaining a safe, climate controlled, dry environment to store your belongings, they have also provided terrible/non-existent customer service. If anyone else has also had damage due to the neglectful maintenance of this facility, please contact me.

I left a good review but i had to come back because 2 hours after i booed this storage unit. They gave me a storage unit that was locked and they said they couldn’t give me a new one and cancelled my reservation. Last minute and a waste of time. They will ask you to leave a review. Don’t because the moment you do something is going to happen and you can not get your unit.

Spoke with someone on the phone to reserve a unit for a specific price. Was called and told unit was cancelled all of sudden because of a system error and they could not offer the same price I was given before.
** Edited- Radiant Storage reached out to me immediately about the issue. They were able to rectify the situation. I appreciate a business that stands by their promises. Please be sure to educate the representatives about company policies.
