We purchased a 2014 Elantra 2 weeks ago for our daughter. They did not hassle us and after signing paperwork for an as is car they still kept their word. They purchased her a new battery and ordered a part for us to insert inside the car and had it shipped to her in Huntsville. So far we are very satisfied. Deloris and everyone that was there that late evening was very helpful. We will definitely recommend and come back again.

I bought several cars from them. They are the nicest people I have ever worked with. They helped my daughters when they needed repairs and gave us body shops to help with fender benders. If you need a used car or something for your teenager this is the place to go. They offer financing options with all the local banks and credit unions. It was so easy to work with them. Thank you Pelham Imports ! I will be back !

I went to Pelham Imports to check out a vehicle that was advertised online. The owner handed me the keys and told me to go check it out and take it for a test drive if I wanted to. The car was completely dead and the passenger-side front tire was flat. In the engine compartment, the engine had piles of acorn hulls in multiple places on the engine block and they were also found inside the air intake beneath the air filter. I also noted what appeared to be mouse droppings in the engine compartment, behind the rear seats, and in the well where the spare tire is stored. There was also water standing beneath the spare tire. The owner claimed the water was left over from when they “recently” shampooed the inside of the (dead) car. Hmmmm. Before I found the standing water, he said that it was “the cleanest Prius “ he had “ever seen“. When I said that seemed to be a lot of water left over from shampooing, he stormed off muttering something about “nit-picking the car to death”. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Response to dealer’s reply:
My wife was present when the car was examined and can verify that EVERYTHING that I reported in my initial review is 100% accurate. As a 60 year old Army veteran with a doctorate degree, I can easily and accurately recognize if I see acorns when I look under an air filter. I am also highly adept at telling the difference between the presence of “moisture” and an actual puddle! I have seen quite a few mouse “pellets” in my time so I feel pretty confident with my assessment but, the next time I check out a used car, I will be sure to bring my “doodoo detector”. I’ll let the buying public decide who they think is telling the truth.

The honest, hard-working people at pelham imports helped my partner and I find the right car for us at a great price! It was out first time purchasing on our own and everyone was upfront and super helpful. They did all they could to help us and gave us upfront and honest advice about what to do to. The vibes were night and day compared to other dealerships in the area.

I would give this place the worst review possible beyond one star if I could! This place demonstrated unprofessionalism and racially discriminatory behavior! To say the least if you think about this establishment understand their motives are not about helping people especially if you are not the right skin color. A lot people say they will get a lawyer and never do, however they will be served within a week because I contacted a lawyer yesterday in case this very situation happened. He informed me to have them remove the inquiries and once they decline we then can take it further!

Heather Rima serviced me in an unsatisfactory manner. This place has decent used cars, but the service is not up to par. This salesperson did not give adequate time as promised to present income verification from new employment despite loan approval. I wish they could have stated they needed income verification before running a hard hit on my credit. They sold the car after I sent income verification and this all occurred since my visit on Saturday. Heather gave false information that I had the offer for fourteen days until I get the income verification which I sent two days later. I was approved for their application on Saturday but they sold the car on Tuesday anyway. Please follow through on your word of business or modify your advertisement on your website that is misleading. Also, please do not run a hard credit hit if you already have a buyer for the same vehicle.

Called ahead about a vehicle. It showed online as ‘no accidents’ in the Car Fax Report, but clearly had been repaired and poorly done.We walked the lot but no one ever came out out the office or offered to assist. There are more dealers and lots of cars out there. Pelham Imports isn’t where I’d go or send my family or friends.

Seen a few bad reviews for this place. To address them: This is primarily a used car lot, if not only used. I didn't see any new vehicles, and I didn't expect to. If you buy a used vehicle, you should go in expecting there to be some problems, and no one, not even a professional mechanic, can know what all is going to go wrong with a vehicle months from the purchase. Additionally, the doggo is super friendly and not flea ridden at all, and I've got no idea where that came from.Onto my actual review. I went to about five car lots the day I bought my car earlier last month. Out of all of them, this was the only lot that treated me with high amounts of respect and attention. They didn't push me on details, didn't go out of their way to advertise cars we weren't interested in, and were able to quickly answer any questions we had with full transparency. If you are looking for a place that will be honest with you and will work to make sure you're getting what you need from a vehicle, this place is it. They really work with their customers. The car I bought was a 2014 model and a VW, so that means specialty parts and services required. They had to handle a few different issues that we spotted as we inspected the car, and we had it ready and driving less than a week later. I now have a separate issue with the vehicle, and within the past day I called them to see what to do, they had me drop it off, they figured out what was wrong with it, called me back, and gave me all the details about it. In a week they'll have the part they had to order, and I'll have my car back. I'm free to pick it up today and they'll call me back when they get the part in. This is within the warranty I had for it, and they've been nothing but kind and helpful.Their selection is limited, due to the smaller size of their lot, but if you can work out a way to add this lot to your route when you're going car shopping, you won't regret it when you find that car you want and have a staff of friendly people that will work with you even months after the sale. I expect to continue using this lot for my car purchasing needs for as long as I'm in town.As always, if you have questions about what you're buying, ask. If you think it's a bad deal or you aren't happy with the price, feel free to go to another lot. But ultimately, these people have a job to do, and can't give deals that don't work for them, and their prices aren't based on negotiation. They're the prices for the vehicles they determined before you came. And in my opinion, the prices are pretty good for what you're getting. And these people, respectful and kind as they are, deserve your respect and kindness in turn.

I had purchased my first car in 2003 from Pelham Imports while I was in high school at John Carroll and working at Publix. This place has changed so much. I wanted to give them my business due to that wonderful experience I had over a decade ago. There was no place to park when I drove in. When I walked in the building..the lady is very unfriendly. I let her know I am trying to sell my car. She quickly interrupts me and asks “How much are you trying to sell it for?”We walk outside and she barely looks at my vehicle..then we walk back in. When she opens the door, I am charged at by this huge dog that has all these fleas swarming around it. The lady still hasn’t invited me to sit down, however, with all the fleas swarming around..that’s probably for the best. So I am standing there, she pulls this pocket sized manual out, flips a few pages and says...“We can’t work with you...try Driver’s Way or CarMax.” That very advice is what I did. I got more value than I thought I would get out of my car from CarMax than I had told this lady at Pelham Imports. If she were to be friendlier...maybe she would have found out I am trying to sell my vehicle to purchase something different...even as a trade in value. CarMax won my business that day.If you are thinking about purchasing, selling or trading in a vehicle here...RUN!!! They are barely looking at your vehicle for its maximum value for a fair offer. Watch out for flea infested pets!!!
