It seems like everytime the post office has to deliver a package from Amazon it is late or just never arrives...... I know the job is beyond tough, but hire more people to help!

Place is a joke. Buy some snow chains and go to church on sunday if you are scared. The roads are clear.

The worst Post Office ever. Will not resolve any issues. Does not care about customers.

Great staff and always up to notch. I ship hundreds of letters every month and receive dozens and the delivery rates, commitments, as well as professional service are the best.

UPDATE: Feb 2024...This is a perfect example of just how incapable, incompetent and just worthless and stupid this team operates and clearly defines how lacking in leadership the USPS is:I literally mailed a letter of complaint about mail getting lost, CERTIFIED, to the Postmaster of this facility, FROM this facility, TO this facility...again, CERTIFIED, and...wait for it...Yep! They lost it.There is just nothing left to say. Turn off the lights, lock the doors and send the clowns home. This place is a sad, sorry joke. Honestly, they should be ashamed of themselves for who and what they are.] [ ] [ ] [Complete incompetence can't even describe what gets "delivered" at this dump. I honestly don't even know where to start. I thought things with the PO could not get any worse...until I have to rely on these fools to deliver my mail. The entire facility and everyone in it is far from being a part of the solution, but excel at contributing to the problem that is the USPO. There is no leadership. No example. No accountability. BUT...rather than address issues, lets just increase postal rates and watch the service continue to decrease. What a flippin joke. Shut the place down. Drain the swamp.

My friend sent a pkg for the holidays to me which showed it was delivered. Discovered on my 1st trip to the PO it was delivered to an address no where near my house. They took all info & said they would talk with carrier, go to house, and retrieve my pkg and call me. No call, so next day go to PO. Again, they would do the same thing. Got an update this time. The resident who received my pkg states they did not get it. For them I believe in Karma. If you enjoy stealing Christmas presents there is a special place for you. To the PO I hope you are holding someone accountable. Just because a pkg is insured & shipped through USPS does not mean you can deliver it anywhere you like. And, wishing me a Merry Christmas at the end of the call is just the cherry on top. I do not ship through the PO. My friend no longer ships through the PO. And, yet the USPS struggles financially. No kidding. Get your act together and maybe people would use you.Follow up to review. USPS denied my friends claim for the pkg stating it was delivered. The fact that the Madison PO office delivered it to the wrong address was never considered. The whole USPS system is broken. The expectation that you can use the USPS and get competant service is not a realization.

I wish there was a way to give LESS than 1 star. This post office is the worst. They don't deliver, and you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. I have called 10 times in a row...only twice did someone answer and immediately hung up on me.

Terrible service they always say there’s no action to the delivery location because of a car parked on the side of the road even tho there’s plenty of space to put my mail in the mailbox and get to the mail box they even put in notes if they are able to put in a note at least give me my damn package

If I could give zero starts, I would. If I could give negative stars, I would! Mail carriers are just not delivering packages. They had a package sitting in some woman's office there for over a month for me to pick up...? Why wasn't it delivered to me? Repeatedly, packages will be out for delivery and then switch to "ready for pick up". Why do I pay shipping fees if I have to go pick up my own packages??? Laziest group of PO workers I have ever encountered.

Should be no stars. They won’t bring a key to open the mailboxes at my apt complex. Say they have to have them made. I don’t even know. It’s just an excuse for them to do nothing. We get no mail here. Have to drive 8 miles to get my mail. Then I get there and I’m told they can give me mail if it’s in my slot but not if it’s in the tray. What does that even mean?!?! The owner of the complex has called multiple times and they say they’re going to do something. They’ve done NOTHING. I’ve been here a month. This is unacceptable. No wonder the USPS is struggling. I’m not done. I will call everyday and raise Hell until I can get my mail delivered. I should have a box of checks from my bank so I can pay my rent. I’m waiting for my W-2s to come in the mail that my previous employers have told me were mailed. I had two pieces of mail that came Jan 2nd and the 13th. Wow!!! Unbelievable!!! It’s infuriating. Government garbage is what it is. You suck!!!!

I've never known a post office to close for a week due to inclement weather. I'm new to Madison, AL, but in Texas, our post offices were open and drivers were delivering in every type of weather. What ever happened to the mantra, "Rain, sleet, or snow"? Postal workers were provided the equipment to make deliveries even in snowy or icy conditions. If every post office closed due to snow or ice, none of the people living up north would ever get their mail!!! The only delivery service that was out here during the icy weather was UPS!!

Days after the ice/snow the sidewalks were still covered in ice. They should apply salt/sand. Unsafe conditions

No one ever answers the phone. I've called 20 times over a 1 year period and no one ever picks up. I've had packages and mail go missing. For a time during 2021 i had all my credit cards that were being sent to me go missing to the point my card companies had to send them via FedEx because they would never get delivered via USPS. Last year in 2023 i had my medicine get lost for days during high heat and had to make several trips to get no help. This happened multiple times. Whatever mail does get delivered is very late in the evening.

They never scan packages showing them being accepted if you drop them in the package chute and if you're lucky they may or may not get scanned when they arrive in Birmingham. Do your damn job!
