Today is April 1st also known as April fools day. First time visiting Murphy Service Center in Brent AL. I don’t like visiting mechanic shops since I do work on my own vehicles. Only thing I don’t do is tires. I drive by this place regularly and saw they had tires so I thought I’d check them out.
When I go to mechanic shops, which is very rare I like to act dumb to see how they treat me and see if they try to take advantage by overcharging etc..
Brought in two tires on rims to see how much to replace. These tires were in the back of my truck. They didn’t have them in stock. The guy there, I don’t know his name made a few calls. He got off the phone and started punching away on his calculator. He then says $245 for two of the cheapest tires he can get and he can have them in tomorrow. Keep in mind the tires weren’t even on the vehicle. No idea of the fees he taxed on. He wouldn’t tell me the brand of tires either. I seriously thought he was messing with me with that price. He must have a lot of overhead. I feel he attempted to take advantage by overcharging! He did punch away on his calculator for awhile lol… I left there thinking to myself what a joke!
Drove up the street to King Tires and got two tires that have less than 100 miles on them for $100. A great deal, $50 a tire! They look like new? That price included the price of tire, removal / disposal of old tires and mounting / balancing of new tires. I’m going to King Tires for any future tires. I was in and out in no time. Best to just go to places that specialize in tires than going to an actual mechanic shop!

Had a flat tire for repair... lucky me it wasn't a damaged issue.. actually cause of flat unknown..so since they had time and I had time I went on and had my tires rotated on the car that I brought the flat in very reasonably priced and sweet people!Services: General repairs & maintenance

Where can I start? Don't go to Murphy's had just a caliper put on back...first took 5hours 45 minutes..and he had no customers...second he didn't bleed my brake system..paddle to floor. Accident waiting to happen..the kicker charged me 100 for back yard work...had to Call on A God sent from Precision Auto Care..Sammy you're the best...If you read this and still go to Murphy's Auto don't complain..he should be out of business...Service: Brakes
