“I just did an Publix run with my two year old. On the way out it had started to sprinkle, and I was figuring out the best way to get my toddler and the groceries quickly into the car. An associate pulled me aside and said that there had been lightning, and that she would be happy to load my groceries if I wanted to drive my car up to the front, cutting down the time my toddler and I were outside and exposed to any dangerous weather. It meant so much! Thank you for going above and beyond and making us feel safe!”
“Out of the MANY DG's I've been to in Athens, this one is on its game! Rarely do I find boxes stacked up all over the place waiting to be unpacked for us to purchase and the cashier was on her game by checking my receipt before I left because I used self-checkout and had several items that were not in a bag, large items, and most importantly to me, I didn't have a single problem using the App! The app saves me lots of money! Once my sister showed me how to use it.... I can't not use it now ??! Good job N. Jefferson!! I literally drive by Three Dollar generals to get to get to yours & one is less than a mile from my house! Kudos to the manager ??? & the employees ???!!”

“After walking away from a paid for fish meal at Captain D's next door to Hometown because they refused to acknowledge in a very rude manner that they served the food cold, I being hungry went next door to Hometown to see if they had a deli. The lunch meal was great, priced similar to cold fish meal next door, and the staff was very friendly. So the money lost at Captain D's was actually not such a waste as it help me try out Hometown. I will be back”

“This particular store has come up a long way. The store manager that has been here for almost a year now has really turned things around for the better. The new assistant store manager that’s there now has amazing customer service and is always there to help! If something is not on the shelf when needed, these people will go and find whatever you need, even if it’s in the back. Highly recommend!”
“The cashier was very polite as I walked in & said if I needed any help finding anything just ask. Most of the time at Dollar General, I have not been told that as I walked inside. Being that this particular DG is one I frequently visit, I was able to find everything fairly quickly. I do love to take a quick peak at all of the home decor items that are for year round & seasonal. Sometimes I can find the perfect little addition to a room in my home while I'm there.”

Things are a little bit higher at Dollar General for the name brand items than at WalMart, but you’re paying for the convenience. Pro tip: The 1st Wednesday in November is National Advent Calendar Day and make sure to go to Aldi early to get your Aldi Advent calendars! I could have sworn my husband picked these up on November 1st this year. And, I'm right because in 2023, the 1st Wednesday in November was November 1! At any rate mark your calendars to get to Aldi for their Advent calendars in early November. The cheese Advent calendar is delicious! They are a great value at around $25.00 each! Each cheese is individually shrink wrapped and labelled, and their goat cheese, and gouda cheese as well as their flavored cheeses are delicious! They make great gifts too! “I was apprehensive about this Dollar General prior to its opening probably 1/4 mile from our house. I thought it would be an eyesore and cause traffic problems. Actually, it's been a good thing! It's nice to have this DG for a last-minute item of, you know, standard Dollar General offerings. The store clerks are friendly here and there is 1 cash register and 1 self-checkout. The parking lot is clean, spacious and well kept. Why no 5th star? As with most businesses these days, this DG seems understaffed and the clerk ends up restocking the shelves, which often delays checkout times.”
