One of my favorite thrift stores. They have everything and things are priced rather fairly. This place is also pretty big, so take your time.

I have been to strange and unusual stores throughout the Philly proper, and then I've been to Thunderbird Salvage! Even if it's just to window shop through peculiar history going through vintage and thrift stores like Jinxed ( is a favorite pastime of mine. But Thunderbird Salvage is the equivalent of taking every single Jinxed throughout the city and tossing it into one old-school church building. I've heard stories, I've read great reviews and followed them on social media, and I've seen photos. But even so nothing could prepare me for taking in this treasure trove of eclectic vintage finds that come from a group that also specializes in salvage and excavation. It took me forever to get here due to the pandemic and not being able to find the right day to come during my Philly excursions. But it felt right to check it out when I was in the area for the appropriately titled Weirdo Fest and was dressed head-to-toe as Pee Wee Herman. With it being inside an old church the exterior is just as eclectic as the interior, especially when they have an outdoor market like they do on several special occasions such as this one. I can't even begin to cover all of the eclectic finds that I saw inside and out, But standout items included the following. ~ A full media section that ranged from eight tracks and video cassettes to CDs and DVDs. ~ A full vintage mascot outfit that I might have contemplated more than I should have. ~ rustic tools and vintage canes by the bucket load! ~ an entire bookshelf of black & white photos of naked people that I *might* have added a portrait of Jesus in to be cheeky. ~ so many intriguing pieces of vintage furniture and clothing that I wanted to take home and make my own. ~ All the taxidermy! When it comes to holiday shopping for that person who claims to have everything, Thunderbird Salvage is the perfect place to get them that thing that they never considered!

This place used to be a fun place to go treasure hunting. Its in a big old church and has a grungy flea market sort of vibe. You have to do some digging and searching, which is fun when you are getting great deals. I used to leave with my arms full of interesting items. While it has retained its grungy vibe, someone has turned it in to a boutique. I picked up a small pyrex bowl with a price of $50. Salvage? I think not. While they still have some great things, you will pay top dollar. I left empty handed.

Used to really like going to this place, but now severely overpriced. Looking through the salvage framed photos, found a broken one for $45. everything you touch is around $50 doesn’t seem well-priced for a store with the word salvage in the title. No thanks!

They’ve got everything…books, records, knick knacks, clothing, shoes, accessories, home goods, electronics, etc. Pricing isn’t absurd. They have adult magazines close to the entrance and other framed adult images scattered throughout so take heed if you’re bringing young children here.

What an amazing thrift store! The quality of their book selection, wall art, home goods and decorative miscellany is truly impressive and their prices were unbelievably fair. I highly recommend!

Absolute BEST second hand store in Philly. Flawlessly delivered an annoying overstuffed couch to my back door apartment and I love y’all for it.

Huge variety in the inventory, from jars filled with marbles and buttons to vintage bar furniture, and original artwork. Not well organized (could be for aesthetic reasons) or clean. Prices are $-$$$.

This is my go to place for everything home and body. I love these guys and bonus it's in my area. This is my therapy place, good people, good items, and all in one. I found a beautiful white sectional that I purchased from here before they could even post it to their Instagram page. I am pleased to have found this gem of a store. Go and tell them I sent you or better yet you may see me there!

This is one of my favorite vintage shops. When I visit, I have to allow the appropriate amount of time to hunt for gems…and gems you will find. I look for quirky stuff and there is no shortage of them. If they have practical things, I am too impractical to hunt it down. Love this place.
