The librarians are so helpful! My son was having difficulty finding some books that fit his interests and they came up with a list he can't put down!

I love the Sturgis District Library! Whenever I have been there, everyone has been kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. In addition to their wide variety of books, I appreciate all their other resources: books on CDs, internet access, video rentals, and access to Libby. They have also recently added access to Hoopla!

Sturgis District Library offers a large selection of books, including a special display of recent acquisitions. DVDs and audio books are available as well. The atmosphere is friendly, open, and quiet.

I write this review on the library's internet, August 2021, enjoying the continued quiet here after a day of remote work. This place has been a lifesaver when I needed internet for a day. Left alone except when help was required, if I lived in town I'd be here on the regular.Well recommend this library for the facilities and ease of use.

This library provides bare minimum access to books, internet, movies, and research materials to the community, but it does so begrudgingly, rudely, and with next to no love, soul, or deeper understanding of the philosophical significance of a real library. The few good librarians here appear to be renegades, defying the general flavor of the establishment in order to bring some life to the place. If fresh, friendly, MLIS-educated newcomers are someday brought on to run the place, it has the potential to flourish and inject new life into this community at an unprecedented level. I hope that someday it does.

I'm only giving 4 stars because of the story time on fridays at 10 am for younger kids which is great and the woman who runs the children's section is wonderful. It's a different story though (no pun intended) in the main section of the library. When I asked to get a library card awhile back i was denied and treated very rudely because I had a change of address sticker on my driver's license, they acted like the public library is a high level security government building or something. I've got a new license with my new address, but I don't even want a library card now, because I don't want to deal with that attitude again.

Zero stars. They are mean to women and children, rude and inconsiderate.

These library workers act like dmv workers. Rude as hell.
