“My physical therapist recommended that I buy a really good chair to prevent or reduce the lower back pain I get when sitting at my desk for a long time. The brand she recommended was sold at only one place in the Chicago area and I was incredibly lucky that the retailer happened to be Applied Ergonomics. I made an appointment with Jeff, the owner, who was absolutely amazing. He helped me find the perfect chair and I can't say enough good things about my experience. Although it is obviously more lucrative for Jeff to work with customers who are outfitting an entire office rather than buying just one chair, he made me feel welcome and spent a great deal of time having me try out different brands and models to make sure I got something that was very comfortable and supportive. My daughter, who was with me, was so impressed with Jeff's knowledge that she too decided to get fitted for a chair and also purchased an adjustable stand-up desk. Jeff's help didn't stop with the fitting. My daughter lives in LA and he spent a lot of time finding the most cost-effective way to have her desk and chair shipped from overseas to LA and delivered by a service where she could schedule a date and time that was convenient for her. My daughter and I were amazed how friendly and accommodating Jeff was. We would highly recommend Applied Ergonomics to anyone looking for higher-end chairs and desks and the service to match.”

“From the moment I entered store and was greeted by a soft spoken woman who brought me to the sofa bed on display i didn’t feel pressured.I bought this one right away after she let me open, close, and lay down on the mattress. I went back the next day to buy two more items.Bob’s Furniture has much to choose from. The prices are surprisingly low compared to the other 5 stores I visited. The construction was sturdy and the mattress is thick and comfortable.I recommend Bob’s Furniture highly. I wish I had gone there first”

“I am very happy with my new Verlo Xtra-Firm mattress! I had been putting off replacing my mattress because I was not at all keen on the new foam style mattresses. Verlo's innerspring coil mattress has removed all the pains and fatigue that I woke up with every morning and felt throughout the day!Manny was very helpful in understanding my preference and guiding me to pick the option that best suited me. “I had a terrific experience with Kim Arnesen at the Skokie location. I am a design illiterate. I was doing a project re-carpeting and repainting my home, and I was starting to realize that all my color decisions were dependent upon a couch that I really didn't like. I went to several furniture stores, and really wasn't happy with my choices until I met Kim. She was more than willing to come to my home, look at the furniture I already had in place, and the paint and carpet samples I had on hand, to help suggest a new couch that could solidify a design concept. Her assistance was incredibly valuable... within a few days of her visit, I had chosen carpet, paint, and most importantly, ordered a new sofa! Kim was able to steer me to a product that was within my budget, and allowed for all the customization I could have wanted. I got to select extra firm bottom cushions, and a size that fit the space perfectly. Even more important, the fabric selections were terrific, and I found a material that had the exact feel I wanted, with the wear characteristics I needed. The ordering process was fine, and the new sofa arrived when predicted. And it is terrific! It looks nice (apologies, I am not a good photographer) in the room, matches all the other items well, and pulls the look together for me. Even better, this is the most comfortable couch I have ever owned! I fall asleep on it way too often, it is such a nice, comfy place to sit. As far as I can tell, this sofa (the Louise model) is incredibly high quality, is well made, and is more comfortable than I could have imagined. But more valuable was the design assistance I received. I am only exaggerating slightly when I say that I would have happily paid Kim for the design services, and she threw in the couch for free!”

“Lately, I'm here at least 1 x week since moving back to the area. I find affordable stuff for my home and studio that fit the spaces perfectly. I purchased all of my curtain rods here. The prices for them were great in comparison to a few of the local big box hardware stores. It's right next to a Petco, too, which is very convenient. This place always seems to have what I'm looking for... except a good garlic press. I'm still on the lookout for one....Shout out to Samir, who seems to be the furniture manager? Supervisor, maybe? He is always friendly and very helpful.”
“Wanted to let others know we had a very positive experience at Room and Board in Skokie. When we went in we had excellent customer service from Jonathan, he showed us some different fabric options that we were interested in as we had received some swatches and we were not sure of which one to choose. Today we had our delivery and it went well. They were on schedule, courteous and efficient (Ben and Mark). We cautioned them of our newly installed carpeting so they removed their shoes.”

“This is a convenient location at Old Orchard Mall because it is a central location that's also close to the parking lots. Layout-what it's a bit unusual because it has a main and lower floor, and most of the larger furniture is downstairs. Service is good, quite attentive and able to answer most questions. Like most things at Pottery Barn, you're going to pay a premium price, but you're also generally getting above-average quality. I say "generally" because I find an increasing amount of their items are not made in the USA, but still command the high prices that other places sell for but with domestic manufacturing. It's a bit disappointing, but obviously not specific to this location.”
