“Rented a Ford Transit 250 high roof cargo van to move stuff from Brooklyn to Chicago and returned it here because it was the cheapest drop off location (would have paid >$100 extra to return in Chicago; grateful for the Penske phone rep who helped me find the best deal). The Penske counter is the same as the Home Depot tool rental counter, and the guy who helped me out was very kind, friendly, and had some fun dad-like jokes prepared as we inspected the rental together. (He also writes noir fiction and I'm bummed I've forgotten the name of his book; would like to check it out). I filled the tank at the grocery just north of the Home Depot, which seemed to be the cheapest in the vicinity -- but wish I'd also filled up right before entering Illinois, as the tank is huge and Indiana was way cheaper. Anyway, wouldn't hesitate to rent from or return to this spot! Glad I went with Penske; Budget was cheaper but they don't guarantee the vehicle you select will be there, and I had a great experience at both pick up and drop off as well as a sparkling clean, brand new van (I think they're just starting their cargo van program, so they're all fairly new).”
“I appreciate the managers and workers at Life Storage, in general and while I stored my stuff throughout the years there. They keep a clean and dry facility. The manager, Ms. Chavez and worker on the couple days that I cleaned out my storage were very informative if I had questions and needed help. I am very grateful for their patience, guidance and hard work. Thank you. Keep up the good work.”

“I would give 5 stars for service and the way the employees handle people and questions. They helped me make several changes to my reservation in under 5 minutes. They offered tips and valid suggestions. They were awesome. The only snag is the wait at opening. They needed more people working, but not better. Best rental facility I've ever used!”

“easy to find, convenient, but was a little confusing and very hard to squeeze between all the cars and the box truck U-Haul's to drop off. We had to maneuvering in and unhook trailer and drive out backwards... But all in all..easy drop off.”
“The GM Mike, at UHaul Portage is the best. A different location of UHaul dropped the ball on my wiring and hitch installation and the day of my move Mike saved the day! He was so willingly to assist me when other locations couldn't. Nothing but positive things to say about him and this UHaul! Go to this Uhaul if you are in the Chicago area!”
