“Market in the center of town. A hub for the community. Love the Zero Prophet coffee and the Fascia's chocolates - both items are addictive! They used to have a great rice & beans hot offering. Haven't seen that one in awhile. But check on what's cooking for lunch as it changes.”

“I can’t rave about this place enough. The regular menu is perfect and elevated soups and sandwiches. And the special take away dinners on Saturdays take you to Lyon, France one week and Morocco the next. The food is spectacularly delicious.”

“Great farm store with my family's favorite raw milk (?), eggs, and a nice variety of meats (pork, beef, chicken, lamb). Open 10am - 6pm daily. Also saw some picnic tables and kids stuff. And, for the animal lovers like me, there were a couple of dogs resting in the shade and a cat asking to be petted...”

“I stopped by this delightful little shop while visiting my mom who lives up the road. What a cute place! It has been around for about two years and has cheeses, pastas, tinned fish, foie Gras, pate, cured meats, and more. The owner is a retired flight attendant who hand picks all of the inventory from some of her favorite places she's come across in her travels all over Italy, Greece, France, and more. A truly can't-miss, one-of-a-kind culinary shopping experience in lovely Litchfield, CT.”

“The service is grate and personalized, they great me by name, and the butcher knows his stuff and he makes the best sausage you can put on your grill and yet your air fryer. The Australian (picanha melt in your mouth).”

“If you haven't stopped by and given Midways deli a try then you are 100% missing out! Their sandwiches are the best around town!! Not only is the food to die for but the service is amazing as well. Great hospitality which is very hard to come by these days. Midway Market and Deli definitely gives you that family like experience. To anyone who hasn't visited Midway yet I encourage you to head there ASAP. I promise you won't be disappointed.”

“The best customer service I've seen in many years. Top Notch, so helpful. All healthy foods, no major brands, ask for help and you'll love it. Highly recommend if you want to be healthy and support local businesses”

“Not a bad place. Some prices on things are more expensive than in other places, and some are cheaper. I wish they had more fresh bread but it will definitely do.”

“I love shopping here. The displays are put together very nicely and I always end up buying more than I plan to. I don't say this about many grocery stores, but this one just has a nice vibe going.”

“First time going in (have had Instacart deliver a few times in the past) and I was suprised it wasn't a bigger store. Only about 5 or 6 aisles. Checkout was quick and easy. The only complaint is getting around the oblivious shoppers who leave their cart in the middle of the aisle. The carts are bigger than your average grocery store's carts, and the aisles aren't wide enough to get your cart past someone who is standing next to the cart that they left smack dab in the middle of the aisle while they stand there either scrutinizing the product, or gabbing away with their friend. One other thing: You get charged a $0.05 bottle deposit for the orange juice container, but you can't get a refund because the container doesn't list Connecticut as one of the states you can get the money back for recycling.”

“Bantam Market is like the Whole Foods of Litchfield, Ct! I absolutely love and appreciate the array of products, giftables and food choices. The deli area has an array of different pre made salads, meals and Asian & Jewish cuisine. They also have a chef come in to exclusively prepare sushi. The but her shop also has a nice array of meats and marinated items you can easily throw on the grille. The family who owns this grocery store has been in business for 50 years and the love and care that goes into selling and assisting is rare. Bantam Market is one of my favorite markets in the area. Coming from city living for over a decade, it is nice to have a market that offers an eclectic array ingredients etc you can use to cook any authentic meal. Largest Gluten Free selection in the area as well! Between baked goods, cakes, pasta and breads ... you can't miss out if you have a gluten allergy. They also have a kombucha bar where you can fill up your own growlers. The beer selection is pretty nice too! Cheers!”

“I want to specially comment on the woman who gave me my flu vaccine when I was there on Friday 10th of November! She was sooo nice and the shot felt like she touched my arm with her nail for a second! She said “ I think I’m hired” and yes if I could hire her, I would!!( by the way- it was the pharmacist but I just didn’t get her name) ??get all your vaccines here!!Nancy S.”

“Today I did my normal run to stop & shop to get my groceries and I'm always pleased with their products and pricing. But today was different, I was in line checking out and the woman in front of me was so incredibly rude to the young man checking her out that I almost had to say something. This kid handled the situation better than any grown adult would. He was extremely professional and completely held his composure. I talked to him after his encounter with the woman and was impressed to find out he was only 16 years old and doing everything he could to juggle sports, school and a job. His name I believe was William. Stop & shop should be extremely proud to have an employee such as him. If it was up to me I'd say give this kid a raise! It's well deserved!”

“This store is located a bit off of the beaten path. It's located behind the Dunkin Donut location on Route 202 in the center of Litchfield. They offer a good variety of goods and services without having to leave Litchfield to shop. It's definitely a welcome addition to the town of Litchfield.”

“Dropped in this morning for a few basics and reminded of how grateful we are to have DG here: good selection, varied merchandise, clean shop, GREAT PRICING for important items and I feel safe here. The customers are usually friendly and will chat; we all agree we love the music and vibe! The staff (although there are not enough) are always attentive and helpful. Woodbury has changed so much; in many local businesses now if you are not 'known' you are truly invisible. Not here! Thank you DG for keeping essentials at can-do prices; please hire more folks. 07-12-23”

“Alright. I know there are major ethical issues with this behemoth, with how it undersells small, local mom and pops and puts them out of business; how it's been found (at other locations) to have locked workers into stores at night; etc... But here, in New Milford, there don't seem to be many other places, which aren't also behemoths themselves, where you can pick up light bulbs, toilet paper, and mulch -- far less all three at the same time, at fair prices (along with Play-doh, Advantix, and gummy vitamins). The staff are almost all amazing, friendly, helpful, and reasonably diverse given the demographics of the area as a whole. We've been particularly impressed with customer service during the COVID-19 outbreak. Not only have folks been cheerful and kind in spite of high ambient tension levels, but have modeled tolerance and non-bigotry. This was one of the first places where toilet paper and cleaning products sold out in the area, it's true -- but it was also one of the earlier places to restock. When all area stores were out of thermometers and children's Tylenol, we found them here. We have some funny stories about how our kid, while attending an extremely chichi nursery school in NYC, was asked to write about his favorite place to visit in the world. Other kids wrote about private islands they visited on their parents' yachts. (OK, not really, but close.) Our kid wrote an ode to the toy department at Walmart. It is extensive. It's not en vogue to like this store, I know. But particularly in light of the wonderful staff, who stay wonderful through thick and thin, my family thinks this Walmart is the bomb diggity.”
